The Homestead in Rotherham

The picture says it all. The food was okay but the bowl the chips came in clearly hadn't been cleaned properly or checked before it left the kitchen because there was dried what looks like chocolate near the bottom of the bowl.

Sat at table that said reserved from 1900. So sat down. Ordered food at the bar, was told will be 45 min wait. The waitress then changed the notice on the table to 1800. Thought it's OK got time. The food took over 1 hour to arrive. When I complained she said there had been a lot of steaks ordered, well it is a sizzler pub. It wasn't that busy. We moved tables because of the time. They had a buffet party arriving. Complained again was still waiting for food. It arrived 2 mins after. 1 was a fajitas it said jalapeños. Arrived non in site, wasn't told at point of sale they haven't got any. 1 was mixed grill, it was all piled up on a skillet had to move things onto another plate so it cud be eaten without falling off. It was on bed of onions they were mushy and over cooked. Was not the kind of class of food we usually get. It was not nice. The only good side when we ordered a pudding they didn't charge us. Been loads of times this was the worst.

We visited on Easter Monday. They had no vinegar and no tartar sauce. We were not told of this when we ordered so fish and chips and fish finger sandwich was brought but no condiments. Won't be visiting again. Someone could have bought some from the many shops in the area.

Great few visits over the last couple of weeks, pub is always very busy! (it's small, so book a table) Staff can't do enough to help you even though you can see they are busy! Smiles all round all the time. Food is typical pub grub, loads of choice always hot and at a great price. Download the app as they have some good offers.

Service really really slow meals took 50 mins for meals to come out and wasn't really very busy and was well staffed so no real excuses. Our Puddings got delivered to 3 tables before ours we told the waiter they were ours but didn't seem to be convinced even though i told him what we ordered and had a receipt too. It's normally pretty good although not been in for a while. Everything over cooked by 5 mins :( Bread bun on burger was solid!No one asked us if food was OK till we had eaten it either.Puddings were good though as you can see.First pint of Bud Light was lush Second not great :(

Our family visited for a meal, the staff member said there was a wait for food 30/40 mins on entry. We decided to stay, the food was nice, plentiful, affordable. The pub was busy so was a good sign of quality of menu available. Four full tummies ✔️. Lots of car spaces available, outside area to sit too.

Came for a meal with my family this evening, food was very nice, better then i expected. This place took me by surprise, very child friendly, and easy on the pocket. Thanks Dan and Matt for the excellent service.

Nice, comfortable and friendly staff a good pint too and a little cheaper and fairer then most places you'd expect. Good meals and child friendly offering a large seating area inside and out with good car park facilities. And outside covered smoking area and tv

Thought a Tuesday lunchtime would've been a bit quieter - unfortunately, it ended up being just SO busy that we had to wait an hour for our food. However, what was delivered was lovely and also piping hot, so it was worth the wait, plus the staff were very apologetic, which was a nice touch, too.

Beautiful food very warming and welcoming great friendly staff easy access for wheelchairs too. I recommend highly the mixed grill!!!!
