The staff are fantastic !! Took mum for her birthday ( first one without dad). She wasn't bothered about celebrating it but I mentioned it to the staff that we wanted to make it special so they all came out and sang happy birthday to her, it made her day. Thank you to everyone !! We will be back for mother's Day.

One of best burgers I’ve had for a long time and my wife’s Carvery wasn’t too bad either

We went on Sunday booked a table and we were expecting a nice quite meal but no the place was busy the food was not good frozen veg, very salty gammon, stringy beef. I can honestly say this will be first and last time we would use the Moorlands.Very disappointed is an understatement.

Not been for a while, what with personal circumstances And covid etc. Wow how things have changed, not only has the place been rebranded and prices gone up significantly they now have a pair of scales to weigh out how much meat they putting on your plate, which also appear to be slightly smaller than previous days.Total lack of meat choices - Beef or Turkey. Veg choices weren't much better. FROZEN sliced carrots FROZEN peas FROZEN cauliflower cheese FROZEN green beans. PACKET MIX mash spuds and worst roast spuds ever. It appears rebranding from CROWN to Stonehouse has also resulted in price hikes and lower quality food being served.Plenty of staff mulling around except for the bar that had only one super slow staff member serving 🙄. Chances of me returning? very slim, which is a shame as I used to love this place.Edit:- just as I thought standard cut and paste response from establishment that they've given to other negative reviews.Clearly means they wont take on board points raised and will continue to serve below par food at inflated prices with slow don't give a toss staff. Pity really as it was once an amazing place offering excellent quality food at exceptional low prices.

We went here on new year's day. A family of eight, 6 adults and 2 young children. We all enjoyed the meal. The carvery was all really good , the meat was exceptional!! Really tasty and tender. The Carver was really friendly and chatty. Some of our party had pizza which looked really nice too.The only reason I have not given 5 star is the waitress at our table was a bit miserable, never smiled or acknowledged any request with chat, just gave us what we asked for with 😐It's been a while since we came here, our last visit would have rated poor, but this visit was a big improvement 👍🏻

Enjoyed a Sunday carvery here. Lively and friendly atmosphere with really lovely floor staff. You know what to expect from these places and this experience didn't disappoint Very relaxed meal out.

·

Lovely place with friendly staff, some areas cordoned off and when looking at the menu no starters were available due to staffing issues relating to COVID, so can't be helped. The meal was nice but could do with a few more Vegan options.

Absolutely amazing from start to finish! Arrived to very happy, inviting staff. The manager is a delight and very funny (in a good way!) , even sat us near a plug socket so I could work at the same time as eat! The bar staff, chefs and waitress staff are perfect, great customer service, very friendly and warm. The food is top notch, exactly the quality you expect from a carvery. I'd highly recommend this carvery! Thank you for a fantastic meal and experience.

We have eaten here loads of times as the food is lovely, the service is great, and the prices are reasonable. I am disappointed with the new changes though. I am no longer allowed to swap the chips with my burger for a small side salad, and there is a 45p charge for extra sauce other than ketchup or tomato sauce. I don't think it's fair to be charged £3.50 for a bit of lettuce cucumber and tomato. It won't put me off revisiting, but it would be nice for those new decisions to be reversed.

We live close by and have been here a few times, and every time we have been treated with respect and kindness. The manners of the serving girl was brilliant and, she was very polite. sat outside (a little traffic) but lovely scenery. Play area for the kids too!!We will definitely be coming back here top marks
