Toby Carvery Dronfield in Rotherham

Visited on a busy Friday lunch and got sitted immediately without a booking. Staff were very pleasant and attentive, checking I was satisfied and asking whether I would like an additional drink when almost finished. Good pint of guinness too! Only negative was that the meat was quite dry and tough, which was odd as the restaurant was very busy so food couldn't have been under the lamps for that long drying out? Overall, good lunch (trimmings made up for the meat) and would definitely visit again.

The meat was dry, limited range of veggies and they had ran out of their famous gravy. There was a really long wait to get the gravy, meaning everyone's food was cold and their excuse was because they had no kettle. Not what you expect from a place who should offer a good carvery service.

Absolutely avoid. It seemed as though our server had a knife up himself, as he was the rudest and moodiest server ever. His greasy pony tail, and long dirty nails (which resembled badly done acrylics) put all of us off our food. There wasn’t even the excuse of it being busy. The only positive experience at Toby Carvery Dronfield was leaving. Was not worth the money, the time or the travel. Unless you want to be served by an evidently rude and unhygienic person, do not come here.

Excellent food and brilliant staff. Very well priced as well as availability of great tap beers. Was a very fine line between giving it 4 or 5 stars on the previous visit but with full availability of some good draft beers now, my family will continue to go back again for the scrumptious roasts that are available.

Absolutely lovely place. Great food!! Very clean and immaculate. The staff are very well presented. Thank you to Jakitta for making sure that we had everything.

Enjoyed our dinner at Toby today. Beautifully decorated for Christmas, homely and warm atmosphere

We had the carvery, lovely but my granddaughter wanted a Yorkshire pudding an two sausages, she didn't eat any of it. The Yorkshire pudding was as crisp as a biscuit, sausage was dry as a stick. Waitress hovered asking is everything ok. Got on my nerves.. wont go back sorry.

Just been this afternoon 14/01/22 with my grown up grandson Harrison for a Fabulous Carvery... Everything was Absolutely Spot on... Carvery and Desserts.. Also staff were all lovely too.. 5star... 10/10 Harrison says...😋

Service polite hence the star. Food was cold. Veg was hard. Not what I've come to expect from them and lunch had only just begun. Come on Toby carvery step it up, you used to be a lot better than this

It was very beautifully decorated. Mains were half price and so it was extremely busy but our server Emma W was absolutely brilliant. She was always smiling even when other patrons were quite nasty because food wasn't available. I felt like defending her as it wasn't her fault.The meat was so tender it was like it melted in my mouth. The toasties, crispy, the mash smooth. Peas tasted over done but edible. Gluten free gravy was the Vegetarian option and was tasty. Can't fault anything.
