We visited The Buck Inn as we were staying at Forest Holidays Cropton. Proper local pub run by lovely people, delicious food and a great music play list! Wish it had been a bit closer to Forest Holidays so I could have stayed for a few drinks but sadly I was driving, but don't let that put you off!

We dropped in on Sunday afternoon and were made very welcome by the friendly staff. We all enjoyed our home cooked food in a proper pub surrounding. I would recommend the Buck Inn to all.

The decor was dated but the staff were friendly and there was a good choice of meals that were augmented by the 'Special's board's. The meals arrived in good time and were tasty and well cooked. There is also a large outdoor seating area.

We ate at The Buck Inn on a Thursday afternoon for a late lunch/early tea. The lady behind the bar was very friendly and welcoming.I ate off the main menu - Asian spicy noodles with a chicken breast - delicious and a very generous portion. My other half chose from the specials board - chicken & black pudding which came with a lovely selection of fresh vegetables and choice of potatoes so he chose boiled new potatoes. This was also beautiful and very filling. We had our dog with us and he was made very welcome. It was nice to see a selection of customers in, including a group of elderly friends who said they were meeting up for a long over due catch up over lunch, and also a young family with children who were happily playing at their table. The whole atmosphere was lovely & relaxing. The pub has a wonderful charm about it, the food was great and the staff were friendly yet professional. 10/10 from us and we look forward to returning again.

Nice pub food with a traditional atmosphere, “proper” chunky chips were a hit 👏

Had meals here two nights running, between us we've had the shoulder of lamb, the 10z steak, the steak and ale pie and the belly pork...All the food has been beautifully cooked and Barbara and Scott couldn't have been any more hospitable if they had tried. Really really welcoming and would definitely visit again! A credit to the local area!
