Eastgate Fisheries Cafe and Takeaway in Ryedale

Not even real chips, we're out of a freezer bag and not full cooked, covered them with curry sos to make more eatable. Fish wasn't bad but bit thin.

Only popped in for chips, wish I hadn't. The place was filthy, as were the staff. Chips were cooked in old, dirty oil and couldn't be eaten as they tasted disgusting. Glad I don't live in the vincity, will never go near the place again.

Chips already cooked, then warmed back up, won't be going back.

Best fish and chips I’ve had in a long time. Friendly staff great prices. Definitely returning when I’m working up this way again. Deserves more stars

Got a takeaway last night.Nice fish but ruined by greasy batter that fell away from the fish.The chips!Wow.These were some of the worse chips I have had. Very greasy and not at all crispy. Left a strange aftertaste of the oil used in my mouth. I will not be returning.P.S: we mistakenly ordered gravy and it tasted lovely

Had fish chips and curry sauce at 6.30 tonight. Chips and curry sauce was good, fish batter was burnt and hard, ate the fish and left the batter, we won't be going back. Change of owners wish we had waited till Whitby

We went yesterday after visiting flamingo land. The place was lovely and clean and the lady serving us was lovely. The food tasted very nice with generous serving sizes, the only thing we found was fish was a little too heavy battered but that's just our preference. Over all it was a lovely warm meal to warm us up after a cold and wet day.

Great fish and chips to eat in or take away. We always go in the restaurant when visiting Pickering. Would recommend. A++
