Engine Shed Restaurant in Ryedale

I love coming here for a look aroubd and lunch. Nice menu, good prices. Cakes to die for. Soup and a sandwich is really nice, with cake if you like to indulge! Great lift for those with mobility problems. Nicely laid out. Also great garden centre and outdoor supplies.

Sadly I felt it was very poor. Cappuccinos from a machine rather than freshly made, they were weak and watery. Cakes were very synthetic and clearly bought it. Shame, I had expected more as I'd been told by locals that it was very good. Maybe the hot food is better. Shan't be back to try it though! Staff member didn't look thrilled to be working! Overall very uninspired. On the upside, very warm and clean cafe.

Always call in for at least a coffee if we are in Pickering. Not the cheapest garden centre around but a good choice of items to choose from. Love the cafe. Its light and airy with a decent choice from cakes to meals. The staff always have a smile for you no matter the size of your order. Not a bad cup of coffee as well.

This is my favourite garden centre cafe (I'm very experienced). Good quality food at a sensible price 👌 Ask for a loyalty card and get money off at the till. !!!

Excellent customer service manager was helpful to tell me about the parrots one has sadly moved on to in-law. I travelled 18 miles to visit and eat lunch in the marvellous cafe with a lift located on the first floor

Always stop off here on the way to Whitby for a bite to eat and a shop in the gardencentre. The restaurant upstairs is fabulous and always clean and serves lovely food. It also has a sun terrace which is lovely if you like eating outside. Highly recommended.

Good place for anything you need for the garden.Had some great Xmas productsSampled the toffee vodka, so tasty ,as was the local version of Bailey's, far superior.Definitely returning

Lovely cafe! Ordered on the app, food and drinks arrived quickly, well cooked! People who work in the cafe are very friendly and helpful! Lovely garden centre.

Amazing visit here today. In search of lunch for five of us, we were welcomed and shown an available table downstairs. We were offered the chance to have a look for one upstairs but the place was packed out. We were advised to use the app order service and the food and drinks would be brought down to us, sound advice to avoid the queues. The gent that dealt with us was polite, friendly and professional. Drinks arrived promptly followed by the food. Both my wife and I and our three kids agreed the food was fantastic. Personal recommendation is the lemon and pepper chicken jacket spud. Well done to all involved and many thanks

I always visit this cafe and garden centre when I holiday in Pickering. The cafe is light and airy, clean with helpful, friendly staff and delicious food. I have only been for breakfast so can only report on the generous portions. Good coffee as well.Best loos as well.Hope to be back soon!!
