Fortune Inn in Ryedale

It doesn't look too inviting from the street but the food was hot, tasty and served very fast. Slightly more expensive than I'd expect but i cannot fault the place, staff were friendly and attentive. Would i go back when in Pickering? Yes I would, so that says it all really.

Restaurant is clean and COVID rules appear to be followed by distancing patrons away from each other. Nice to see that this is taken seriously. Also, plenty of hand gel available. A big tick for this.The staff are very friendly and pleasant. Once ordered, the food arrives very quickly, almost too quickly. How do they do that?Ok, so the food? Hmm, edible at best, unfortunately. The rice and the beef curry is ok. However, the chips and shredded beef are so hard I had trouble pushing a fork through.The cost of all this is also too much. Far too expensive for the mediocre food on offer.So, would I go again? Nope, never again.

Food was delicious and can highly recommend the curry sauce. Only went for a main course. Can't fault the food The staff are lovely but we did have to wait a while after the main course was served for the rice etc to arrive.

Pretty average. Nice staff and very fast service for a Saturday. We did spend most of our time trying to keep 2 flies from going to our food. Plenty of options in the menu. It's a bit dated decoration inside. The ambiance was OK, nothing to write home about.

Place was fairly quiet being midweek. Had to move takeaway boxes to sit and wait for table. Seemed disorganised. Food was good, reasonably priced and served up quickly however it was only warm at best and had gone cold by end of meal. No atmosphere or interaction from staff. Wouldn't go again, bit of a non event.

This was probably one of THE best Chinese restaurants/takeaways I have ever been to. The food was amazing and customer service was very good. We hadn't booked a table but we're pleasantly greeted and taken to a free table by the window. The food was enthusiastically eaten by our whole family and was very welcomed after getting of the train from Whitby.
