We had an overnight stay here on the way to collect our son from uni. The staff were very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. The room was very clean and well furnished. The bathroom was provided with the softest towels we have ever had on an overnight trip and the bed was very comfortable. The bedrooms are all in a converted mill and vicarage. We stayed in a vicarage room, which was very large, with high ceilings and a seating area in front of the windows - perfect for reading. The food in the pub restaurant in the evening was excellent, as was breakfast the following morning. We have been trying to find a place to stay on these regular trips and will definitely be returning to the George and Dragon. Kirbymoorside is a perfect location for walking and visiting historic properties. Highly recommended.

What a great pub. The room was great and spacious. The food was amazing. Good selection of drinks (best in the village). The best thing was the staff, they were friendly, accommodating and they never stopped!! I would highly recommend!!!

Second time staying here. Food was lovely and breakfast set you up for the day. Staff are very nice especially Kath and Ali. The certain local one just couldn't wind his very loud mouth in again! We were told this had been sorted but unfortunately not. We don't want to sit listening to someone's ventures on a dating site and what he got up to with various conquests I'm afraid!! A few people had said the same about this certain person and had put them off going back. Its shame because the hotel is lovely but this let's its down.

Our second visit. Not nearly as good as our first last year. Stuck in corner of bar room, cold and draughty. Food ok but very expensive.

As a pub it's lovely, and for a quick drink and a bit of lunch, the same.Dinner, well if I'm honest, the starter, prawn and salmon platter, was a couple of slices of smoked salmon and a tiny pot with prawns in with a blob of Marie rose sauce on the top with a bit of salad in a scallop shell....not quite a "platter"The Whitby crab Thermador, was way too cheesy. However, the trio of lamb was good, but too much mint in the gravy!

Had a lovely week in this peaceful village and this hotel was our favourite to eat in and just pop in for drink. The waitresses were very nice and friendly, the pints were tasty, the food was outstanding every time.

After a long journey up from Sussex we were made very welcome, nice pub, good beer, rooms a little dated but comfortable, but what really stood out was the food, it was excellent !! I had the trio of lamb and can’t praise it enough. The waitress was very attentive and entertaining as well, her knowledge of the area was very useful. Thanks for a lovely start to our son’s wedding weekend.

First time visiting this lovely pub. Staff were brilliant and the food was delicious. Hubby had the venison and I had the steak and stilton pie. The venison was cooked to perfection and I am now a convert for stilton. Put it this way, the food and staff were so glad of we are going back on Friday. Excellent find for our Yorkshire holiday.
