From check in to check out, my pup and I felt welcomed. The staff are friendly, the customers are fantastic and the pub is superb.

We had a lunch at the hotel. Arrived just before the kitchen was due to close but they accommodated us without hesitation. Friendly service, and great quality food with lots of good vegetarian options such as grilled halloumi. Might be good to add more vegan options too in future. Very dog friendly, with a large outdoor area and dogs welcome inside too. Highly recommended overall!

Only stayed for one night but had lovely large room. Enjoyed drinking at the bar & eating here in the evening. The food was delicious with very big portions! The team here were all lovely & very friendly. Would def reccomend you stay here if you are in the area

Amazing experience at the kings Head Hotel. We were made to feel very welcome indeed during our stay, such a lovely hotel and friendly staff would definitely recommend and would happily stay again

I have stayed here probably over 30 times in the past two years for work. It is a traditional pub with rooms and does very good breakfasts. They do evening meals as well which can sometimes be unavailable mid week, but the food has always been excellent. Some of the rooms have baths, and it is a lovely quiet location.

Well hardly even noticed a storm last night . Cracking weekend in the North Yorkshire Moors . Roaring fires in hearths over 400 years old. The sound of clopping hooves from bygone drawn carriages on cobbled roads . Stepping back into long forgotten times .Sunsets telling wives tales truths , shepherd's happy the day after to have glorious blue skies .The only fog inside my head from the spirits in bottles of a night of rich conversation daubed with laughter , memories and dreams .Walks along wooded ,weaving ways . Trodden by feet and hoof for centuries, the shouting of drovers still heard on the breeze . Little Robins standing their ground in jungles of ancient Ash, Birch and Oak.Sundog light shows across clouds that you don't always see , we don't spend our time looking up .Finished off with Yorkshire's finest ..... Bettys.

Had an excellent stay. Room was a bit small but spotlessly clean. Food was superb and really good value, especially the steak and ale pie. Staff were friendly, attentive and very helpful. Would recommend and will be going back.

Really friendly staff and locals, we felt very welcome. We found it to be cheapest for beer in the town. Only had one meal there but enjoyed it and very reasonable.

Only popped in for Sunday dinner. The pub itself looks pretty snug, somewhere I'd be quite happy to settle for a few ales, but I was driving, so sadly couldn't.So, why the mark down?! Ordered myself a beef dinner. First impressions were mixed. Plenty of beef, nice and tender and pretty tasty, and the gravy wasn't bad. Now....the downsides. The Yorkshire pudding was more a Yorkshire pancake, and the veg was overcooked to the point of mush. The roast potatoes could of done with seeing a higher temperature for a few more minutes.Shame really, as the portions were good, the staff are really nice, it was a good pint, and a homely pub to boot.I hope it was just a one off, and I always give a second chance.
