Staff joke around a bit but while joking they can sound serious but quite good value but chips look not very appetising

First time purchase, after reading previous reviews. Thought I would try.Have to say the fish and chips were excellent.A short wait , but cooked to order and service with a smile.Referring to a previous review, I was a bit disappointed as he didn’t look scary to me.A well deserved 5 stars.Thank you.

Traveled here from from doncaster and omg 10/10 seriously one if the best chippys we've ever had! And to top it off we got speaking to the owner John and he was one of the nicest blokes, will deffo be back when we are next out this way 👍 cheers jodie and rich xx

Lovely fish and chips - cooked freshly to order. Generous portions - could feed two if you aren't super-hungry. A short drive from Helmsley and we managed to park close by. Good value at £7 for a nice size fish and plenty of chips. Recommended,

Great fish and chips, all cooked to order. Really nice people who own and run the fish and chip shop in Nawton, where I stayed on a week's holiday. Very highly recommended.

Excellent cod, chips and chat from the charismatic owner. Ordered early and went for a pint down the road. Will return to both. Even went out of his way to make more mushy peas for us. Highly recommend!

Visited whilst on holiday in July. Nice fish and chips. Although there are raisins in the curry sauce, not for us. Good peas.

Chips were fresh and tasty. I hadn't had a battered sausage for ages. I wasn't disappointed. Husband's steak pie was a bit smaller than expected but good meat content. Staff were friendly. Reasonable price.
