I posted 1 star by accident on my phone. I'd never give just 1 star to this amazing place. I won't go anywhere else for fish and chips. They are just out of this world

Expensive overpriced for the tiny portions. Waited ages whilst freezing outside. Paid £30 for salty portions. Batter very salty. Batter stuck to paper, not the best. Save your money and go elsewhere. Had high hopes with it being a small village chippy.

Batter on the fish light but crispy, family meal deal great value.

During our visit to Pickering, we saw the sign of it being a winner of best fish and chips and decided we had to try it! Food was awesome with proper portions and very tasty. Special shout out to the gravy which was probably the best I have tasted.

Ordered 2 portions of chips with gravy and ended up stood outside for ages in freezing cold. Surely chips could be ready. Would not bother again

Fish & chips quite nice, the fact you have to order/pay then wait outside I didn't like,especially as the lady serving , shouted out your order had a non-english accent making it difficult to understand .

Great tasting fish and chips but very slow service for some reason. 5 staff behind the counter but waited 20 minutes in the cold outside before I received my order. Will try again but service speeds need to improve.

I had steak pie, chips and gravy on Friday teatime. Even though they had a “one at a time” policy (for covid protection), I was served pretty quickly. The gravy was amazing and very tasty, which was a lovely surprise. Plenty of meat in the pie too and chips was a decent portion, cooked to perfection! Heartily recommend this little gem of a chippy!

Waited 45 minutes in what seemed chaotic scenes from within, but the fish n chips were lovely. Maybe need to have system of numbered ordering to keep people from gathering around the door and on the road, staff were friendly and polite. Would definitely go back.Thank you for responding to our feedback, we imagine that balancing your popularity and lovely fish n chips can't be easy.
