Speedy Pepper in Ryedale

This pub needs to seriously get some happy smiley staff who can serve people in the right order and can speak pleasantly to customers instead of barking “we don’t food anymore” when they advertise they do and have menus in all the tables.One star because there is not a no star option.

I used to order every takeaway I had from this place, but I just simply cannot trust the quality, drivers, or how up and down the service is. Sometimes it’s superb, but that’s rare. The amount of times I’ve ordered food for it to come smashed in the box because of a takeaway driver clearly driving round corners too fast, or you’ve forgotten food, brought the wrong order, or just brought a plain parmo when I’ve ordered something specific. It’s a joke. I do NOT pay the expensive price that it is to have the treat of a takeaway for it to not be what I ordered. The whole outlook of Speedy Pepper needs re-designing. From website, to the attitude of your staff, the quality of food, and the general service. I used to put a lot of money a month into my fav takeaway, I simply won’t order anymore. I’ve also ordered food well before the restaurant closed, and still had my money taken from me and food never arrived because my order wasn’t seen? You have no idea how it feels after a long busy day of working and working late, your only option is a takeaway and for it to just either be wrong, bad quality food (chicken and beef stay away from), or not show up. It puts you off ever ordering again. This review comes from years of bad service, there’s no trust, so I highly advise not to put your hard earned money in Speedy Peppers pocket. Please look at the quality of the chicken you’re using for your parmos, or how long you’re cooking it - from it being fatty/grizzly to DRY as heck. It’s sad to see a good takeaway go so downhill!

Food was great, good value

Plenty of choices for pizzas. We ordered the BBQ meat special. Waited for our order outside due to Covid. The pizza was hot and tasty. Just what we needed after an evening out.

Dont trust their website ordering. It will cut you off then say that they've shut it due to too many orders being received. Usually when you order online you get an email confirmation but nothing as the site wouldn't allow the order to be placed and kept loading then screen cut to the not accepting orders type message.They then tried to deliver and say they tried to ring you but didn't get an answer so how they changed an order that didn't go through and just delivered! All very strange. Driver was rude and hostile which made things worse
