We had two fish and chips tonight, it’s the nicest fish and chips we’ve had for a long time. A large portion and cooked to perfection, we will certainly come again.

Always great fish and chips from here, and all cooked fresh.

Don't get me wrong, whatever I'm about to write doesn't take anything away from the lovely fish and chips served here.The opening hours.. How about being more honest? It say 8pm close. What you actually mean is we will be wiped down and cleared away and out the door by 8pm... Heaven forbid you walk in between half 7 and 8 and actually expect food. You'll be greeted with the sort of response that makes you think you're doing them a favour by ordering something.At that time of the day don't expect anything they haven't already got cooked. I could almost feel the disdain when I just wanted to order fish and chips at 7:40pm while the guy was furiously cleaning everything down.I get it, seriously, you want to go home, we all have long shifts. But don't say you're open until 8pm if you're not serving food until then! That''s all you do, serve food. There's a massive difference between 'being open' because your doors are open and actually selling something!The fish and chips were very nice. But a pleasant greeting? Absolutely not. I felt like I'd broken in.I'm sorry for putting you out by coming to a fish and chip shop and actually wanting to buy fish and chips during your opening hours, I realise it must be very stressful for you. The woman behind the counter made that very clear. You even turned away a family that came in after me! Perhaps a customer meet and greet course would be advantageous... Or a more simple solution, get friendlier staff and adjust your opening hours to when you actually WANT to sell food.

This is a great portion of fish and chips, freshly cooked every time, nice chips and always get the mushy peas. Some negative reviews on here from a few years ago, to be honest I've always tried to pop in when on holiday and haven't been disappointed and tonight's servings where excellent. 👍

Good for a quick fish & chip stop, parking outside, not too expensive (£6.70 for f+c, ,£1 for curry sauce). Good sized portions, there can be queues at peak times

Always hits the spot. Well fried fish, big fat chips and plenty of scraps ie Yorkshire Caviar! A family favourite of ours

Bought four portions of fish and chips and three mushy peas, arrived home several miles away and the peas hadn't been added.The fish was ok -the batter quite soggy and the chips mostly crispy lacking in potato and very dry - most of the meals were thrown away. Very disappointing and very annoying to pay for essentially three items and only receive two -particularly as i was the only customer at the time.

Best fish and chips supper we have had in long time 😋 fish superbly cooked and delicious batter, chips just right 👌 covid protocols well observed and only one customer at a time in the shop. We shall return 😊 thank you 👍

Great value, fresh cooked. Large portions. 2 fish and 1 large chips more than enough for 2 adults and 2 kids. Especially with Yorkshire caviar (mushy peas).

The fish and chips and peas are the best I ve eaten in years and years. I usually don't eat the chips but they must use better frying fat here as even the chips are delicious. The fish is large and wholesome and very tasty. The batter is delicious but so perfectly cooked that you can get it all cleanly off the fish if you don't want to eat it. The lady behind the counter doesn't say a lot but she's OK. It's freezing cold in there so I didn't want to sit at their tables and I ate in my car, but hey, the product is so good it's worth it and you don't have a long wait as each fish is cooked to order. Yum yum yum. I actually drive past Thompson, which are very good, to eat here which is Excellent. 😁
