The Bay Horse Ale House in Ryedale

Phoned the day before to book a lunchtime table.Very welcoming when we arrived. Had a good corner table for the two of us and the two dogs we have.Good choice of set menu and a board full of specials.Good range of beers and a guest ale as well.We had a chicken dish and the seafood special of the day.

Excellent pub with amazing Sunday roast and huge portions. The food is beautiful and the decor is just wonderful Georgian style.

If you like good beer and quality food..... Then you'll love this place. It's a hidden gem!

Just come back to our campsite after having a lovely evening at the Bay Horse Inn. The food was delicious and the staff was super friendly very efficient and polite. Great job from Luca and all your staff.

We were looking for a nice pub for dinner on a Tuesday in February Half Term and we came across The Bay Horse on the usual Google trawl. Reviews looked good although we initially scoffed at James from London who proclaimed it was the best pub he’d ever been to…. However, he might just be right! The ambience was great, the decor quirky and thoughtfully done, and the welcome and service from Luca was warm, genuinely friendly and just the right level of attentive. Then onto the food - a mix of authentic Italian (two different pasta dishes from the main menu were demolished by our children; pollo prosciutto which was tender and tasty) and restaurant standard grill (a perfectly cooked rib-eye). Portions were generous but we just had room to fit in some tasty desserts. It was all washed down with local Yorkshire ales. Cheap? No. Good value for great food. Definitely. Just about perfection!

Lovely pub, i got a table next to the fireplace, i loved it, food and staff is great.I had a rib eye steak which was really nice and the tiramisù that came with a small chocolate filled cannolo. The place is perfect for a relaxing dinner or just for a few beers!

Delightful. Food was beautiful, the staff were lovely and helpful and the decor was top tier. Been to a lot of pubs but this is the most ambient and 5star quality one I have been to! Complete hidden gem. X

If your looking for a great old English country pub , (not a plastic refit) with good food , a good range a beers , pleasant and attentive staff I would recommend this pub. Went for a Sunday roast and weren't disappointed, Reasonably priced , with good helpings of freshly cooked veg, well seasoned variety of roasts. Would highly advise booking, the only negative is the car park if full you can safely park on the road.

I’m from London and this is the best pub I’ve ever been to. Beautiful decorations and lovely ambience with an open fire. It’s owned by a very friendly Italian bloke who cooks sensational authentic food and has a very good selection of ales including their own brew which was great. His hospitality was second to none and even let us take a group photo behind the bar. Will be back again next time I’m ‘up North’ for sure. 10/10 would recommend!!!
