The Crown in Ryedale

Had Sunday lunch here & wow! What an amazing place. Lovely, welcoming place and the food was absolutely fantastic. I will 100% be visiting again.

Absolutely fantastic, it was great to walk into a beautiful setting and be greeted by smiles and a very warm welcome from the staff.All very polite and helpful, knew the menu for gluten free options, offered assistance to carry drinks, just a pleasure to visit.Great value for money with the meals we had, all fresh and great portions.Highly recommend

No vegan options available when we visited. Apparently the head chef wasn't available, so only limited range of food on offer. Shame that a vegan burger requires a head chef; can't be that difficult these days..? Some parts of North Yorkshire still catching up with 21st century, or so it seems. Very dark inside too, so take a torch if you want to see what you're eating! We'll try again next year to see if things have improved..

Lovely old pub in beautiful village. Plenty choice of food and specials of the day. Lovely friendly bar man. Food served quickly and nice and hot. Fish and Chips beautiful. Steak pie lovely but it said on menu it was short crust so i ordered it and it came with puff pastry but i ate it anyway and it was beautiful. Nothing was too much trouble. Maybe a little above normal prices but for a pub like this it was worth it for a treat. Would recommend.

Had lovely Sunday lunch for two, beef and pork both delicious, highly recommend. Golden retriever who normally lays by table decided to wander off (un-noticed) into kitchen, sorry guys, she obviously knows best place in pub. Thanks again for warm welcome and delightful lunch.

Absolutely beautiful and scenic, the staff were very welcoming like we were at home. The food was positively outstanding. Would recommend to anyone who wants to escape urban life and enjoy quality food and company. Will be back ❤️

Sunday lunch here for members of the MX 5 club booked in advance. The food was fantastic and the service excellent meals came out very quickly and piping hot and nothing was forgotten . I would recommend this place to anybody ,and it's dog friendly . All members commented on how good it was for such a large group . Well done the Crown .

Staying at shire stays close by. Looked for a place with Sunday lunch on Google. This place looked good, so gave it a go. Arrived, free car park, friendly staff. Table next to log fire. Unfortunately no turkey or beef, only pork. (Not a big fan of pork) but this was the best pork I've ever had, with crackling and big Yorkshire pudding. Honestly the food and service was spot on. Thanks for a lovely lunch to add to our lovely weekend at shire stays.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the Dove apartment. The room was impeccable and we loved the decor. The kitchenette was well stocked and the food from The Crown was absolutely amazing; we'd had a long day of travelling and were offered to dine in our room, unexpected but wholeheartedly welcomed!The placement is ideal, it's quiet and out of the way of passing traffic and we enjoyed visiting the local shops and surrounding towns.Very friendly town residents and staff!BONUS: There are the cutest, friendly cats roaming the carpark!
