Amazing staff, local pub it seems although the staff and locals all know each other, dog friendly is always a plus, let me get to the fooood I had no starter but I did have a rump steak it was a medium rare cook and it was as good as I could have hoped, the chips were well they are more like roast potoatos. They are not traditional chips but they were still gorgeous all in all no complaints and if I’m not complains then it must be good would reccomend 10/10 for prices and service the staff were friendly and were over run and overworked and despite this they still managed to serve us perfectly

Popped in on the off chance of getting a table for an evening meal. The bar staff were extremely friendly and accommodating, bringing a bowl of water for our dog. We both ordered starters, which were plentiful, hot & of good quality, both had the Pie of the day (Game) served with chips & veg, which again was plentiful, hot & of good quality. Would definitely recommend & pre book as was busy.

We passed The Grapes on our way to Pickering whilst staying near Scarborough and thought it looked nice so booked a table for dinner for the last night of our holiday. It was so worth the 25 minute drive. The four of us plus dog were made to feel very welcome. The food was excellent as was the beer and it serves Aspalls cider - always a good sign for me! The landlord and staff were very friendly and efficient - the landlord even brought a bowl of water and a treat over for our dog and made a fuss of him. They have their own pub dog, a bassett who made a brief appearance too, so the pub is very dog friendly. We're now planning to go back to the area so that we can revisit The Grapes!

Disappointed, came along with another visitor (not in our party) a Tue at 6.15pm. Info boards outside and advertised on line as open but no entry???! Blinds all down and doors locked. Don't waste your time. This is the 2nd pub tonight we have found to be closed around this area πŸ‘Ž

Desperate for a breakfast that was much too late even to be called lunch, my starving wife and I swerved off the A170 on the strength of an 'open' sign that also proclaimed it was dog friendly. We only had a short time in which to refuel, about 30 minutes, and the lovely young lady there rose to the challenge. Our fish goujons sandwich was cooked to perfection, hot, and most of all swiftly served. Thank you!
