The Pheasant in Ryedale

What a great hotel this is. Well situated in a delightful village. All rooms were stylishly furnished with excellent attention to both comfort and quality. Foods, at breakfast and dinner were cooked with care and were delicious; with lots of choice; the tortellini carbonara starter was superb, the best I’ve ever tasted. Staff in all areas were friendly and helpful, Nicola on reception deserves a special mention. We cannot recommend this lovely hotel enough.

My wife and I had a lovely night stay and this is an outstanding hotel for style and service, highly recommend food and overall ambience of the location.

Cosy and immaculately presented rooms... Great decor to give it that real pub/Manor House feel.Bar service was fantastic - barman Ollie had some brilliant info in the local whiskies and can mix a great cocktail!

Oh wow. Came here for my Mums 80th with young kids. Couldn't have asked for better food and service. It's the people and friendly welcome that really make it top notch. Rooms were delightful. Will look for any excuse to return.

Second time here for dinner. We had the most wonderful evening in this very special place. So elegant and homly and wonderful staff and service, truly a well oiled and well loved offering. We had the tasting menu, it was delicious. I had the vegetarian menu and it was superb, they really care here to put in as much effort into this. Some unusual and inspired flavours.... For example savoury Christmas spices with celeriac. Venison and liquorice, cep ice cream with white chocolate, asparagus with lemon balm... So much work in every course, all delicious. Great wine pairing and informed passionate sommelier. There was a white onion and wild garlic amuse bouche, beer bread and an olive and chilli pastry. salted butter and cep butter. Only comment is veggie courses were a bit bigger than non-veggie and didn't need to be so I struggled a little to eat everything. Husband's courses were perfect size. So glad we went back and will return again to this magical spot. Thank you lovely team at The Pheasant.

Was welcomed by the owner Jacqui no less who interrupted her own dinner. Dined magnificently with the tasting menu but selected my own wines. Lovely staff integrated when they had chance especially Ollie and Jennifer. Some staff have moved across from The Star Inn after the tragic roof fire last year and slotted in nicely. Thoroughly recommend the dining experience can't comment on hotel rooms as I stayed at The Star Inn. Will return. Cheers Robert Barnard-Smith

Super duper nice. Top class place. Top class food. Top class service. We were being treated by a friend and I m so glad as I never knew about it. Plenty of social distancing. Can't wait to go again. Excellent red wine. Yum yum yum. We have been very lucky lately.

Outstanding food, service and staff. Relaxed and very enjoyable experience. The staff were attentive and efficient and friendly which made our meal all the more delightful. Beautiful surroundings too.We had a gorgeous room overlooking the pond. We found a comfortable spot in one of the lounges for an after dinner drink. Heavenly. Here's to our next visit.
