The Wentworth Restaurant in Ryedale

We were there for a 80th birthday party.the food and service were excellent.well done to the management and all the staff.

Lovely little pub, great food, nice rooms perfect for a short stay and the staff are really friendly

Bathroom has seen better days,my daughter got stuck in for a few minutes as the door was jammed. Toilet only flushed on 3rd go.Bed was comfy and room relatively comfortable.Food was average ; greasy pizza and undercooked chips.Service was ok, pleasant and happy to help when prompted.

The food and service here was brilliant and the staff were all fabulous however the rooms are a little dated but as to be expected for a lower price. I'll definitely be traveling back for the food and the staff so overall a good place to go.

Very warm welcome after a short wait in the reception lobby - I did arrive at dinner time on a busy bank holiday. Prompt and friendly service for dinner, making me aware of a special offer that I took advantage of. The dessert was a real highlight - see the photo. Comfortable pub room where I felt at home instantly.A short hop across the landing, my bathroom facilities were good, though the flow from the shower was a tad disappointing - the shower head could perhaps do with descaling before too long, but it wasn't enough of an issue to remove a star!Breakfast was exactly the way I like it - chunky slices of toast made with real bread, a no fuss full English. Self service orange juice and coffee brought to my table. Left feeling very content with life.

Popped in while out on a walk. The bar staff were super friendly and despite being a very busy Bank Holiday teatime, allowed us to recharge my husband's scooter battery while we had a drink.We were sat in the 'cabin' and could hear the hum of the kitchen with the staff coming & going. I was impressed by the clear, proactive communication from the chef (I think) with the waiting staff (some looked quite young/new). They were certainly making every effort to get food orders right first time ... and to ensure a speedy service at a peak time.It's a very old pub building which is a little 'higgledy piggledy' in layout so the access is not easy for those with mobility issues but we managed. They also have plenty of outside seating, some covered.

Food was lovely and really good value for money. Drinks are also nicely priced and the atmosphere is really good. Rooms are dated and bed wasn't the comfiest, but clean. The staff make this place though, really good service from check in to check out. Only downside is out of their control and that's the local church / clock that chimes every half hour and then chimes for the hour... So 11 times at 11 in the evening... Not ideal if you plan on having a window open. Noisy road from 3am onwards but not something the pub can control! Just worth noting. Nice base to explore Yorkshire from

Small but perfectly formed.Needing a place to eat while daughter was at Eden Camp performing 'Letters from Betty'.Extremely generous portions and the staff attentiveness was 2nd to none (a quick scan of the table while clearing the starters and the waitress replaced any cutlery that was needed).If you've read my previous reviews and know I enjoy as burger, it might surprise you to learn that it was hard to choose tonight's meal as I liked almost everything on the menu, so settled for the mixed grill instead.This place definitely has the 'Jon stamp of approval', can't recommend this place enough.
