White Horse Inn in Ryedale

We took two fussy teenage boys to eat at the White Horse Inn last month. We could not have received a warmer welcome. Despite being a busy Saturday night the owners John and Dawn went out of their way to explain the menu to us and make sure we were comfortable. There were logs on the fire and an amazing atmosphere with the locals at the bar making the evening even more entertaining. The kitchen was superb getting our meals out in a timely manner (not always the case on a busy weekend in pubs) and the standard of food was amazing. Kudos to the chef! This is not pub food - it is high class restaurant standard. Their gravy gets amazing reviews and quite rightly so.Don’t miss this place! Beautiful drive out there, amazing hospitality and first class restaurant! Highly recommend!!

Just had 1 night stay over at the White Horse and what a great little place. The village is lovely the pub is great. We ate here having the steak pie which was very good and good portion size. The Beer is good and lots of local atmosphere from the locals. The bedroom was very nice with an en-siute and a mimi bar which is full. Also very quiet at night time so you can get a good sleep. Next morning the breakfast was plentiful and very good. I would definitely recommend this B&B. Also the hosts were very friendly.

Called in here today after a long walk, initially just for a drink but stayed for Sunday lunch and it was outstanding.The owners were friendly, chatty and very helpful.So glad we found this gem of a place and will definitely go back again soon.Dog friendly, cosy, great food, highly recommend 👌Steph, Matt & Peaches 👩🧔‍♂️🐶

Fantastic 2 night stay. Wonderful large room. Breakfast amazing. Evening meal excellent. Lovely staff. Thanks to everyone at The White Horse Inn for looking after us. Already looking forward to our next visit.

Met up with some friends, food and service very good. We all had the steak pie which was delicious.And the chips well what can I say, the best tasting chips I've ever had 😋

Wonderful mid-week lunch with family. Although the pub was quiet (it being mid-week) we felt very welcomed and comfortable. The food was lovely- particularly good gravy!I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend

Great little pub. Didn't eat but the smell as you walked in made my mouth water.Only recently taken over by a local couple.Very friendly. John the landlord even dropped myself and friend back at our lodgings. Will return.

Stayed for the weekend in Summer 2020. Clean, bright room, fab bathroom. Service felt genuine and lovely. Food is outstanding, especially the breakfast. Do order the kipper- the best I had in a long awhile.Lovely place. Would recommend highly to friends and family.

Very nice pub recently taken over in Ampleforth. Only had lunch but very good and could be tempted to overnight in one of their 3 letting rooms. If you call in ask about the funny floor!

We enjoyed our one night stay at the White Horse Inn. John and Dawn, who have just recently become the proprietors here, gave a warm welcome. Our room was lovely (tasteful and immaculate), and both the evening meal and breakfast we're top quality. Will visit again when in the area.
