My disabled wife and myself have just been kicked out because we only wanted drinks...despite several tables being empty . Shocking attitude.

Memories of 4 generations of our family having fish and chips at Bamfords. It’s an icon for us, and a trip to Scarborough has never passed without a visit to Bamfords. Great to see the business still going. Keep it up!

A Fantastic Cafe with friendly and helpful staff. You can take your fish and chips away as takeaway.

Bank holiday weekend at lunch time and the restaurant is empty should of given us some clues but been many time before so hoped it would be nicePrice increase is astronomical to our last visit. Was told it's under new management and you can tell. Not allowed crisppys in the restaurantCurry sauce ÂŁ2 for the tiniest jugCoffee was watered down that much that if it had a lid on could of passed as hot water. Will not be returning. On a plus side, napkins are better quality

Probably the worst fish and chip shop in the world! Asked the chef what kind of fish we were served and he thought it was cod or haddock, fish was slimy and didn’t taste or look like either. No wonder we was lucky to get seated in a quiet restaurant on a bank holiday!!

I enjoyed the food. Staff friendly and atmosphere pleasant. Didn't give me too many chips when requested. I'd go there again.

Favourite from my childhood, still good, although some weird rules, e.g. no scraps/bits can be bought if eating in restaurant, but are sold at front counter; sliced bread is served in restaurant bit cannot be bought at counter thou can only have a cob/bearable at front counter. Would still use it,Unnecessary frustration caused when is actually one shop with one cooking area

The place is really cosy and clean...the staff are friendly and accommodating, had a bit of banter with them...the fish and chips are fabulous...I quite enjoyed them... highly recommended....

Worst fish and chips ever. No lie. Dont believe me, try em. They smelt good walking past, but after purchasing them the group i was with all agreed with me that they were just revolting. 4 out of 6 fish were as dry as cardboard. Cooked to death, one of the fish was undercooked.. sloppy batter and very pale looking. Only one fish was ok. I dont like wasting food, but luckily for us there was a large bin on the opposite side of the street.
