We've been staying in Yorkshire for 2 weeks and have had a number of fish and chips from different locations..CJs was by FAR the best one out of them all.Fresh large tasty fish cooked to perfection. The chips were golden, crispy and fluffy on the inside. I thoroughly enjoyed every single mouthful.Huge portion! Probably the best I've ever had and the whole family agreed too! Highly recommend!Be aware it is cash only! That did catch me out but thankfully we had cash in the car.

Decent fish and chips, the staple of the British cuisine. They even travelled well enough to devour with satiating effect, back to the Bay resort. Highly recommend.For non-British folk, please be aware that's it's an automatic action to drown and bury the fish and chips in salt and vinegar!

We saw some reviews on Google, so made a special trip for lunch today.We were not disappointed, the fish was fresh and cooked to order, we sat in the restaurant and ordered the special, the portions were great, the service was excellent, everyone was very polite, we thoroughly enjoyed our meal and would certainly recommend CJ's to everyone."Thanks for a lovely lunch".

Amazing fish and chips at a great price. We also overheard a lady that worked there literally go out of her way to cater for a vegetarian customer which was amazing to see. Platinum customer service from everyone there. 100% recommend

Tasty and fresh fish and chips. Staff were lovely. Very dog friendly, they just asked that we tucked our Labrador close to the table. They even brought her a chopped up sausage.

Tried the Haddock and Chips £9.99 deal, which included bread and butter, with a choice of peas/beans/curry sauce plus a mug of tea. It was delicious. The haddock was fresh and large, the batter was light, crispy and dry, and the staff so very friendly and helpful. We will certainly be popping in again.

Popped in just a few days ago. Pleasantly surprise with the excellent customer service and not only. People working there maintain the restaurant area nice and clean on top of very good care of visitors. Portions are big enough to feed guests as well as not to waste the food. Not too thick, nice and crispy coat helps to enjoy the taste of the fish. Gold/brown throughout fried chips are not saggy but crispy and tasty.Mostly recommended
