Lovely food, friendly staff

Good tasty food. Reasonably priced plenty of choice. Very kindly stayed open later for my family as my Aunties had travelled from Scotland. Very much appreciated.

First ever visit, lovely pub, friendly bar young woman; drinks were good value, didn't eat on this visit

My husband and I stopped here for Sunday lunch on our way home from our holiday with our son. They had just had a large group of people in and said they would happily fit us in, if we were happy to wait about an hour. We decided to have a drink and wait. Definitely worth the wait. The staff were all so friendly and the food absolutely spot on. The portion sizes were big on both the child’s menu and adults menu. The gammon was delicious. Would highly recommend.

Had tea here on Friday night! Absolutely excellent chicken burger! Still thinking about it on Saturday morning. My husband said his burger was also delicious and my Son has spag bol feint he light bites menu which was really tasty. They have some really good beers on too, husband was very impressed with the couple he had. Staff always really accommodating and pleasant. We are local and have bought in to the loyalty card which definitely is worth it if you visit often. We have also had a roast dinner here before which was also excellent!

Lovely cosy pub with a roaring fire on a chilly winter's day. The beer was good, staff were friendly and the chips were proper chips! Outside space looks great for the summertime, this could be my favourite pub....shame I live 350 miles away!

Firstly, my G & T arrived at the table & i could hardly taste the gin in it, they had either used tonic "on tap" or they'd poured the whole bottle into my gin which is totally wrong as I like to add my own tonic to suit my taste & i do belueve that you're taught this if you have been on any course to serve behind a bar so that was quite disappointing. The menu shows Typical pub food & large helpings, sadly I felt that staff knew little about the menu, on 3 occassions she had to ask someone else about what was either available or in certain things - the deserts were far too big & we were told ALL "home made" - shame this wasn't indicated on the menu, I may have tried something as I dislike "bought in"desserts. I understand there is new management here & there's not a lot to complain about, just a little fine tuning needed & everything will be fine.
