Farrers Bar & Brasserie in Scarborough

We were able to bring our dog in with us, the staff were very friendly, the food was delicious and at a fair price.

We saw in web reviews that this place had a good gluten free menu but on arrival the only option for my other half was chunky chips (they said the menu had changed). Myself and one of the kids ordered fish and I’ve never had such an overcooked fish. It was dry and chewy and for the most part inedible (and I don’t like wasting food). Shame as the staff were friendly and in appearance it’s a nice place just really disappointed with the food.

Had lunch today outside overlooking the lovely calm sea. Great value for money, friendly efficient staff and quality beers. Really enjoyed it.

We had a meal there on Saturday 6th March 2022, before going to see Dr Hook. The food was great, big portions and the staff, so very, very helpful even though they were busy. There were no tables left for dining (all reserved), so they brought tables in form outside for us. It is a pity there is not a venue like this in every town. I would highly recommend.

Just a great place in a stunning location. Menu changes during the day. Scones are awesome - definitely 5*!!BE AWARE!!! The opening times on Google maps aren’t right! If there is a show on they close at the end of the show rather than 4pm as it says on GM 🤠 Call to check, their evening menu is great!!

Excellent! Housed in the beautiful Spa building, a nice atmosphere, very good service, great food & drink, brilliant views of the south bay. A quality establishment.

Great service, great prices, and great views. Oh, and great hot chocolates if you want to sit outside watching the world go by in the chillier winter months!

We called at Farrer’s bar to have a drink outside and enjoy the sunshine. It was waiter service but we sat for 15 minutes until we managed to catch the attention of a member of staff just to clear the table and had to ask them to wipe the mess that had been left from the previous customers, which was done half heartedly.We then waited a further 15 minutes for someone to take our order. The drinks never arrived and so we left due to the poor service. If it had been busy, the poor service might have been acceptable but there was clearly a lack of training, poor management and inexperienced staff who were not very observant and couldn’t care less regarding customer service.Until the service improves significantly, we will not be returning.
