First Catch Fish and Chips in Scarborough

Fantastic, in fact some of the best fish & chips on the East coast👍

£7.90 for a standard portion of fish & chips which is really expensive. Fish was little greasy but chips were nice.My local fish and chip shop gives much larger portions for less money so I will not be coming back though.

Went here during half term ,liked the name of the chippy thought yeah fresh fish and chips, how wrong could I be ,the worst fish and chips ever ,ok I'll start this review, if you like tail end fish with virtually non existent fish meat you will love it ,I bought 1 large cod and 1 fish and chips ,well the older lady that was on frying duty must have incinerated the fish the batter came out so dark on the so called fish and over cooked chips, then the person that gave me the order tried to push the chip fork into the batter of the fish which he did not succeed, so laid the chip fork on the side ,we took the meals away to sit somewhere different, the fish was just large blobs of batter with virtually no fish content and chips so overcooked ,we both had about one mouthful and binned it ,I even begrudgingly give it 1star ,must be something wrong with that chip shop ,because the next day we went to filey and the first chip shop we came across was first catch so I decided to go into the chippy and told the guy frying the experience I'd had with first catch at Scarborough, he told me that he would guarantee me my money back if i ordered the same order and didn't enjoy it ,well the difference was like day and night ,the chips perfectly cooked and the batter on the fish was a lovely golden colour, when tasting and looking inside full of succulent fish meat, so 5 stars for him ,needless to say I didn't need a refund .

Had fish and chips here today, 5 adults, one child and an infant, they were probably the best I have had in a long time, they really were superb.

Spent the day in Scarborough on Saturday and decided on fish and chips for tea. These were probably the best I've ever had and were absolutely amazing. The batter was light and crammed full of chunky fish. Will definitely return.

Popped into this establishment earlier this afternoon for fish and chips. Me and my friend decided to sit in and eat. The food was spot on, best fish and chips I have had in a long while. The batter on the fish was crispy and the fish itself was fresh.Customer service was excellent too even though it was busy.10/10 First Catch Fish & Chips Scarborough

The food was good but its very pricey compared to other fish and chips along the sea front.

Absolutely diabolical. 40 odd pound for 4 takeaway fish and chips. The worst part was the food itself. I've had 10 times better from the local chippy in Manchester. I won't even start on the staff. SHOCKING !! AVOID !!

Didn't think there was anything special about this fish and chip shop... normally each one has it's unique selling point however everything was average! Thought it was slightly over priced as well and agree with some of the other reviews that others have left. The fish and chips were ok just think I've had better! Still the customer service was awesome and the lads on today were warm and friendly which is always a good thing

the fish was black no white meat. When I complained a lad told me that's what fish looks like. Took picture and making a noise showing ppl how was disgusted. After a while said he would give me another fish. I had to demand money back. But before they was all rude saying that is what fish was like and calling me names ha. I would say never go. I have posted picture. They say what fish looks like no not that I would eat. What a surprise my picture has not been put up.
