Absolutely gorgeous food. Value for money. Kids meal was huge and fabulous. Would definitely return after trying many in Whitby. Great pre-ordering system, although collection time did state 27 minutes but went in and ordered and was out within 5 minutes.

Brilliant fish and chips. We were initially a bit spooked by the ordering screen, but it worked really well and our freshly-cooked food was passed to us really quickly. Worth the short walk out of downtown Whitby!

Lovely food, took away to eat in the car, dairy free options which made my little boy very happy however when we went to eat (having driven away) we were missing a full portion of chips and little ones side. Would happily go back again just not on a bank holiday and would check wed got everything we paid for

Beautiful flavour of fish and chips. Helpful and polite staff. Clean and tidy and not too long to wait as cooked fresh

Visited Whitby yesterday whilst travelling up the coast, not my first visit to this eatery. So believe me when if I go somewhere to eat more than once its got to be good .. and I'll stick with this place whenever I'm in Whitby.

After travelling over 2 hours we stopped here for lunch. I ordered fish and chips, which was lovely as the fish was lightly covered in batter and the fish felt very fresh and melted in your mouth. The chips were good too.You can either order at the counter, using an app or using a machine to place your order. After I ordered they gave you a little device that buzzed when your order was ready to collect.Didn't have to wait long and staff were friendly

Oh my cod! Well worth the 70 mile drive and five minute wait, I can't remember ever having a fish that was nicer.

We bought a fish box meal which is fish, chips a choice of mushy peas, gravy, beans or curry and a drink. Great value for money. They were well cooked and tasted lovely. There are benches outside to eat them and we weren't bothered by sea gulls.

After walking Roseberry Topping the missus and I thought we could grab something from a chippy on the way home. As we were passing through Whitby we went searching and the Fish Box was the first we saw. With benches outside in the warm sun and parking surrounding the area it seemed ideal. Before entry there are menus outside which are clear to read and understand, however from the outset it seemed quite pricey, looking forward to a good portion and decent quality then, right?Upon entry you could see they were running a somewhat Covid secure operation, with barriers up, waiting areas and even installed a tannoy system so you could understand what they were saying better through the Perspex screens. I ordered one of their “meal deals”, which entailed a large fish, chips, sauce and drink, with the good lady ordering a sausage and chips with a side of sauce too. Once ordered we were handed a buzzer to let us know when the food was ready which in my eyes was a great idea- meaning people could wait on a bench outside rather than in.The buzzer rang, food collected. No chip-spice.. whether this is something you can request I don’t know, but nevertheless. The portion sizes weren’t the best. The fish and sausage in fairness were an ideal size but there were only a handful of chips. Whether this is to move towards a healthier Britain, who knows?!The curry sauce hit the spot, and the fish was cooked perfectly. All in all decent, just MORE CHIPS!!Yours,Joe** EDIT-There was also what can only be described as a raw chip in our food: see the photo attached!

Great food!! Lovely little place too. The staff extremely friendly. Fish and chips cooked lovely, reasonably priced too. We sat in, and was a lovely little eating/cafe area to eat our meals. Clean and cosy. Wouldn't hesitate in going again when I'm in the area and on the hunt for food!!
