We’ve been coming here for a long time as we often holiday in RHB. The food is always excellent quality, but the last few times we have been we have noticed the cleanliness going down hill. The glasses were really dirty, the toilets were filthy and the seating area/menu’s were extremely sticky. When mentioned, it was shrugged off as if we had mentioned it to be difficult (quite the opposite) Usually a strong 5 stars and wouldn’t want the pub to lose punters because of it.

Booked a table which was reserved and waiting for us.The meal was nice, the wine (malbec) didn't taste good so ordered a gin which did the trick. The meal was unfortunately tarred by a local lady (landlords sister...)discussing how 2nd homeowners were ruining the village and robin hoods bay. What a shame as we are one of those 2nd home owners (who by the way DO pay full council tax)2nd homeowners also contribute towards the economy of both villages (I wonder how many holiday guests were eating and drinking in the pub who booked a holiday home for their stay)....What a shame as we would have recommended this establishment

Just popped in for a quick bite on a way home as we'd heard good things and are new to the area. Perfect friendly service. Food was quick and really good quality. Plenty of car parking. I noticed a great play area for the kids too. I'll be going back when I'm not driving next time. Just off the cinder path so a perfect stop on the bike or walking.

Super friendly team with yummy food at good prices. We sat in the lovely garden but there was plenty of room inside too. I had scampi and chips which was nicely presented with salad and plenty of tartar sauce. My husband had the peperoni pizza and the team kindly agreed to let us order sausages for our dog puppy which they even put in a dog friendly bowl , much appreciated. A really lovely pub. We’ll be back!

28 Mar 2022n 63yrs this is the first meal i have ever not paid for, a simple burger and chips for me and curry of the day half chips half rice for my wife . The chips had been kept warm for to long and re-heated in a microwave they were limp and dripping in something the burger was over cooked dry and rubberized the bun was black burned on the inside . my wifes curry was hot on one side of the plate and cold on the other i put one chip in my mouth chewed once and spat it out . I complained sent all of the food back and asked for my money back which i did get . I then stood up to leave and a man of about 5ft 10 in , Bald ,mid to late forties became abusive and with a threatening behavior even to the point of pushing and then shouting abuse as we walk off down the street obviously LITTLE BIG MAN SYNDROME . A greasy cafe can do better . Nasty horrible place . Run Hillbillies

Best Sunday lunch I've had in a long while. Great prices and lovely friendly staff. Menu was great too. Fab place, definitely would go back.

Food is excellent. I recommend the Sunday lunch. There is a lovely atmosphere in the pub and also dog friendly.Staff pleasant and it had the feeling of a traditional country pub.

Staying in a cottage not far from here thought we would call in for dinner .. never felt so many eyes on me walking into a bar every table in the entire place had reserved signs on (but where empty)and 5 people drinking at the bar..can we sit anywhere for dinner ? No sorry we're full all these are Reserved for 745.. it was 6pm and dogs wernt allowed in the room that had no reservations the bar staff outnumbered customers they literally didn't have a clue what was going on just a no were full not even an attempt to fit us anywhere.. website makes this place look contemporary and pretty modern couldn't be anymore opposite when you walk in local bar for localsdefinitely felt rushed out the door..

We had a nice meal there but the website seems to give off very different vibes as to what we found. Definitely a locals pub and would have felt more comfortable in jeans and a t shirt than I did. The food was nice. The winter vegetable was quite sweet which I liked but my partner wasn't so keen on. I had sausage and mash which was served with a generous dollop of well mashed potatoes and my partner had Whitby scampi which was very nice. Reasonable prices. Two starters, two mains, 4 drinks came to about £50. We were seated away from everyone else which was a bit of a shame. No atmosphere in our room as we were the only two there and there's a good buzz from the bar area which also had tables and people eating. Yes, I could have asked to move but it seemed churlish. The staff were very friendly and in fact at a busy period, someone who was not on shift jumped behind the bar to get orders sorted which was appreciated. Overall it was a good experience. Pub grub at reasonable prices, venue wasn't as nice as I was expecting but no major problems. Would try again in summer in the garden but wouldn't rush back otherwise.
