The museum is nice - it's free after all. The meal was a pleasant surprise with a superb chowder and large portions. The chowder should be good enough for two if you are not too hungry, but it's so tasty you might want a second helping.

I thoroughly enjoyed my meal here - salmon followed by chocolate tart, beautifully cooked. The setting is interesting with pieces of jet on display, traditional tiling & pretty fairy lights. Given the choice, I would have preferred to sit at a table rather than the central counter, but it wasn’t a problem and the food & wine made up for it anyway. Not cheap, but worth it

Fantastic food and wonderful service. I think it's very good value for money. The venue is also gorgeous; definitely worth a visit when the museum is open.

Nice atmosphere with friendly staff. Enjoyed the dining experience and the projector with the photos of the history of the whitby. A limited menu but they'll be something on there you'd like.

Went to have a look around the jet museum. Free admission. It is fairly small but has some great fossils on display in the cabinets. My favourites were the skull of the pelagosaurus, which was a small 3ft long crocodile, its fossil only being found in jet rock, and the fascinating fish fossil, lepidotes semiserratus, whose head had been partially eaten by a crocodile. They know this because the croc left one of its teeth in the fish and it is flagged up on the fossil. Eurgggh grim! Lots of hefty Victorian jet necklaces on display. Worth a pop in.

Both food and setting here was amazing! My partner and I both had the "Not Fish N Chips" starter (so tasty and didn't stop us having fish and chips on other days!). Portions for the both the start and the mains were incredibly generous, no need to eat for a while beforehand or after! The pork belly, black pudding and Nduja dish was delicious and I'm really tempted to have it again when we're back in town! The setting in the old Wesley Chapel was really cool too. There's stuff to read and exhibits to look at around the restaurant and the Jet Shop which shares the space. Really lovely evening and can definitely recommend for a delicious meal and experience in Whitby! Thanks so much.

A hidden Gem, had an amazing seafood platter (everything was cooked to perfection) at a really good price, great decor and staff were very friendly.

Absolutely amazing food. Satisfied a group of fish hungry people. The chowder was incredible, the best my step mum says she has ever had and she's had a good few over the years. The scampi and chips were enjoyed by the younger members of the group and the crab omelette was a nice option. great service from lovely people and the little museum and shop was not only interesting and informative but beautifully presented.

Beautiful hidden gem inside the renovated old Wesley Hall, just beyond the museum at the entrance. The feeling inside is much more expensive than the very reasonable prices and the atmosphere is welcoming and laid back. We had the large bowl of mussels each which were delicious , accompanied by a glass of lovely Rioja from the lunchtime menu but we will definitely be back sometime to sample the evening menu. Highly recommended
