Good Friday around eight table for two, cod & chips twice & pot of curry sauce, good sized flakes of fresh cod batter was light 👌 chips get an okay, curry sauce could have been bigger or I should have ordered two, total bill £26.

My experience is not good. Buy takeaway cod chips and peas, jump in car to enjoy eating as cols and blustery. Drive up to Abbey and find that condiments not added as requested. Fish and Chips without salt n vinegar are bland. 2 stars for the peas.

Was looking for a dog friendly restaurant & this was recommended, it certainly didn't disappoint as the staff on entry were very pleasant & accommodating. Drinks were delivered in good time as was the food, which was hot, plentiful & of excellent quality, needless to say we had Cod, chips & mushy peas.

First visit Today. Staff are lovely and friendly. Didn't rate the fish and chips though unfortunately. Cod was somehow watery in consistency and chips had no taste.

Looks an upmarket place, but when it comes to the food, While being higher cost than others around the area, it's just a standard fish and chip shop.Had Scampi. I was suprisingly underwhelmed by the presentation of it.The chips, while filling, were nothing wow. Not crispy on outside. There was quality in the sea food used, (hardly difficult given it's a fresh fishing village), but again, just scampi just didn't wow me.I've had fish and chips in many very good places, and I had expected a lot better for the cost.I'm not going to knock it, as it was acceptable, but for cost for what it was, and portion size, I'm not rushing back. Or at least not ordering the Scampi again.

Great quality produce and the staff were very accommodating for our family during an exceptionally busy period - seen other reviews with regards to portion sizes can only assume people wanted to max out the portion size and pay as little as possible.I’d definitely recommend the Yorkshire Special with a bottle of black sheep!!

The fish and chips here were really tasty and really enjoyable. The fish was best i had in a while. The staff are friendly. Prices were reasonable.

·

Certainly deserves its reputation as a top fish and chips restaurant. Great service, great choice and light crispy batter on the fish. For the quality and portion size this is excellent value for money too.

Visited the takeaway and got Regular Haddock and Chips. The Haddock was nice, however was far from a regular, i would've said it was a small at biggest. The chips unfortunately weren't cooked through, leaving them on the harder side in the middle. What I had was good quality produce, which unfortunately wasn't cooked as well as my previous visits, in the restaurant.

Gained an extra star because the haddock was delicious and perfectly cooked. The portions were on the small side, I'm pleased we ordered "large" because I'd have been starving if I left after a regular.
