We live in Scarborough and we’ve definitely just found our new favourite chippy! The owners are really friendly and chatty. The fish and chips are really well sized and not too much (A lot of places you feel like you’re wasting it) The fish is the best I’ve ever tasted! Highly recommend!

I make a poitnt of going straight here as soon as I go to Scarborough and have never been disappointed. The fish and chips is beautiful, they actually serve cheesy chips and all the staff are incredibly polite and cheerful. Best fish and chips I've eaten.

We had cod and chips at lunchtime today. My wife and I were really impressed with the service (with a smile!) and then the excellent quality of the food, freshly cooked. They’re really busy and must get lots of regular customers. Thoroughly recommend it.

Up there with the very best Fish and Chips I have ever had. I love a chips shop that cooks with beef dripping, but is rare in my area of country. I have spent a lot of time in Yorkshire due to family and it is without doubt the home of great fish and chips. Lifeboat is a great example of that. Love it. Would visit Scarborough just to have their food.

Wow! What a find! Tucked away in a little side street, queue out the door but boy was it worth the wait. Absolutely sensational fish and chips! Service with a smile to add too, super friendly and accommodating. Will certainly visit again.

I enjoyed fish and chips at all the best fish and places in North Yorkshire. I can truthfully tell you right now, this is the best fish and chips in North Yorkshire, if not the world. The fish and chips also comes well packed for take away and friendly service from the beginning to the end. Make sure to check limited the opening times before visiting.

After reading the reviews for this chip shop we decided to try it today, and we weren't disappointed. My cod was cooked fresh and was cooked to perfection. It was juicy and flaked beautifully, and was very tasty. The whole family commented on how good the chips were, they were either double or triple cooked, I counted twice but I might have missed one. The staff were friendly, nothing was too much trouble, and were well organised in dealing with the queue of customers. Next time we are in Scarborough, we will definitely return. Highly recommended.

THE best fish and chips I’ve had in many years. They know how to fry tasty fish with a crispy batter here. With the addition of scratchings (or scraps as they’re known here) I couldn’t be happier. The chips were a lovely golden brown not the usual insipid looking chips. Everything was perfectly cooked and the portions generous (my husband and I shared and couldn’t finish it all). We were also pleased that there was not a single but if plastic or polystyrene to be seen - only cardboard boxes, proper wooden forks and brown paper bags.
