We have visited this restaurant many times down the years.Twice in April this year.It is always very good value for money.I am glad we live over 30 miles away otherwise we would be there every week.

Really good, excellent fish and chips, however...., menu states "and a pot of tea or coffee" for the Lunchtime special, but this was not provided, per Lunchtime Special - a pot of tea and a pot of boiling water provided between 2 of us each ordering the Lunchtime Special with Tea, when description suggests 2 tea pots should have been on the table. Unfortunately this stops me giving 5 stars. If I was on my own and ordered the lunchtime special, would have a pot of tea for one...

Food and service was excellent. I had gluten free fish chips and peas....they were the best. Service was brilliant, very efficient and friendly. A real treat and will definitely be going again.

Lovely clean fish restaurant. Staff very friendly. Fish and chips cooked to perfection with tea or coffee and bread and butter. Great set meal for pensioners after 1 30pm. Normal meals before that.

Amazing cod and haddock good portions.. Rated three stars because the staff checked if everyone else's food was okay but skipped past me and my partner stood and kept staring at us... Made us feel uneasy so we drank our peppermint tea and left quickly as I suffer from bad anxiety... Also our waitress a young girl was lovely and help us with a question about the tea

Great staff great fish and chips. I live in Europe and we don't get this.... first visit back to UK in 8 years and it was worth the wait.

Friendly service best fish and chips in a long time. Picture shows battered sausage, chips and mushy peas.

Found Mother Hubbard's recommended on the coeliac app. Reasonably priced small fish and chips. Delicious and were still piping hot after I had driven to North Bay to eat them. Will return next time I'm in the area.

The food makes or breaks a chippy. Here, it was amazing, and plenty of it too. I had a large fish and chips with gravy on the side, and they weren't kidding about the "large" part! The restaurant was busy but the service was swift (yet it did not feel rushed). I asked for tap water which was served in a bottle, free of charge. Being Yorkshire water, it was lovely. The fish was massive, the batter was crispy but not too thick, and the chips were done to perfection. I barely managed to finish my meal. Throughout, the staff were all smiling and chatting with each other, adding to the friendly atmosphere, but it was clear they were not being distracted. They were at stations such that at least two of them could see every part of the restaurant and respond immediately, an extremely professional operation. And for all this, my bill came to well under £15. I feel it is an understatement to say that I would recommend this restaurant and I'll definitely be back the next time I come to Scarborough!
