Mr Chips in Scarborough

Absolutely chaotic, not able to get orders right, all staff except the fryer seemed to be in headless chicken mode. Would have been 1 star but did manage to produce a gluten-free fish and chips that wasn't bad.

Visited here on Wednesday on a daytrip, the fish was so fresh, the chips were lovely and the lady that served us was really nice friendly, service was quick but not rushed really nice place.

Value wise very good. Small Fish and chip combo including sausage and mushy peas, £4.99 and was more than enough for most. However, the fish tasted like it had been on the warmer for ages (hard underneath) and the nuggets were quite hard too. Won't be going back.

a chippy on the front with 3 size options of fish not well over priced always has a small wait chips were ok but for the seafront tourist it does the job

Delicious fish and chips on the sea front. Generous sized portions, excellent value for money. Perfect if you are coeliac as they have separate fryer and gluten free batter. Very good service.

Brilliant, massive portion. Gluten free fish and chips and curry sauce and mushy peas. Beach front in December.

Fantastic fish n chips, all cooked fresh, the portion size is massive. Sue, who served us, was very friendly, the fish is bought fresh every day directly from the harbour. Definitely worth a visit.The large portion was so big even my fat mate couldn't finish it.. 🤣

Well we’re do start ordered gluten free cod x chip large to share fabulous best fish x chip ever went back thank them. Don’t do that very often Jared cooked it Chloe served us both very pleasant and helpful staff. Nice to find fish x chip shop that do gluten free

I honestly think Papas is the best fish and chips ive eaten in the uk . Tastes lovely and the portions are huge while its not expensive at all . Well worth it if you ask me and whenever i do visit Scarborough i always make sure to get some . Brilliant. Thanks 🙏🏼

Look no further. Excellent fish and chip. The regular haddock and chips (see photo) is under a fiver and more than enough for the standard appetite. The mushy peas are a bit too green but ok. Expect a bit of a queue but it’s worth it.
