Disappointed, especially for the price of food. Lasagne was average and my burger bun was stale; my burger was served with fries even though the menu states hand cut chips (which I would have preferred). The children's meals aren't homemade. I don't understand how you can have homemade lasagne but not use that mince to make the bolognese on the children's menu? It's such a shame because we ate at the Oak Wheel last May and it was really nice.

Very friendly staff, giving good service, good food, very good breakfast, room not the best but OK, but makes up for that with such friendly people and a lovely bar and the breakfast is as good as I make at home which is rare I will return when next in the area

Stayed here for a couple of days for my brothers birthday celebrations.I was born and raised in this village but left when I was 14 and never lived there since. This pub has changed a great deal since then but the changes are all for the better. It's much bigger, lovely bar and lounge, open fires. The food is really good value for money, especially the breakfast. The staff are really very good always smart and polite also very helpful. The rooms are adequate but are restricted in size because of the age of that part of the building and they are not expensive.Just a few miles in any direction and you have premier east coast holiday resorts, the N York's moors lovely walks and friendly people. What more can you ask for. Many thanks

Stayed for 1 drink. Limited range of ales. Didn't eat but food looked homemade and good. Bar staff were friendly. My advice is that if you're planning to go here, book a table by the fire. It's a long disjointed pub, and parts of it feel a long distance and cut off from the main bar.

Nice place lovely food but not enough staff for amount of customer's there on a Sunday. They were working hard but you waited a while for food and just to get someone's attention to order another round of 5 drinks! Didn't find staff particularly friendly!!

·

Nice local pub. But £8.95 for one pint of real ale beer, a Pepsi and a tap water with lime cordial is ridiculous so won't return for drinks or food.

We had Steak & Ale Pie and the Signature Burger. They were both delicious. We sat by the side of a real fire which on a cold and wet night was extremely welcoming. Loved it!!!

·

Lovely place which we can thoroughly recommend. We stayed for two nights in rooms which were very clean and comfortable. The breakfast was good quality and there was plenty of choice. The staff were friendly and efficient. We had a meal in the pub on one of the nights which again was superb quality and plentiful.

The staff are pleasant but the service wasn't anywhere near expectation, the food was really poor and had items missing from what they had on the menu. When raised, they didn't really seem to care. Wasn't busy and so not an excuse. Didn't stay for pudding. Much better options out there.... would avoid.
