Ox Inn in Scarborough

Thought we just popped by And ask if the restaurant was open The Lady in the restaurant said fully booked Nobody at the bar and nobody at reception. We had to ask a member of the public where the toilets were how embarrassing!!!!!!!

Always good food, staff very friendly, just a lovely place to relax

Was everything I expected and more.The hotel itself is situated within gorgeous scenery, which, sitting within the restaurant itself you can view and or have a lovely view of the courtyard. Either is idyllic.The service was brilliant. We were seated within good time and attended to efficiently without being overbearing. With the food being served within good timings.The food itself was amazing. I couldn't fault it. Apart from filling me up so I couldn't sample the sticky toffee pudding! Everything was well presented, cooked well and tasted yummy!I'll definitely be returning to sample the afternoon tea and also sit in the Bistro area that looks so warm and cosy and inviting near the fire. :)

I took my mum to the Courtyard Restaurant as a birthday treat and we had a fantastic meal. She has always loved Scarborough, so we spent the morning in the town, having a walk along the front and visited Peasholm Park, before making the short drive to Ox Pasture Hall Hotel. I had been recommended the restaurant and hotel by a friend, who had stayed for the weekend and said what a beautiful place it was. He wasn't wrong! The hotel gardens are absolutely stunning and we were really impressed as we made our way up the drive. As we were a little early and the weather was sunny we decided to sit outside on the terrace and have a drink before we sat down at our table. It was fantastic just sitting there and very peaceful.The food itself was just as good and I am struggling to think of another meal that I have enjoyed as much. As a big beef eater I opted for mini beef filet and brisket of beef, which was cooked to perfection. My mum had pork and enjoyed hers just as much. My wife was busy, so wasn't able to come with us on my mum's birthday, but I have already promised to take her to visit so she can see for herself what a great place it is.
