Papa's Fish & Chips in Scarborough

Great fish and chips , BUT ….Portion sizes are not good value for money , and prices are daylight robbery .Such a pity that these “restaurants” deem it acceptable to rip tourists off.Seek out better restaurants in Scarborough, where value for money does exist .

These really are the best F&C in Britain. Cooked to order. Fresh Haddock in crunchy batter and wonderful chips. Proper mushy peas all served by friendly staff. Very reasonably priced too.

Honestly, go 4 doors down for a MUCH better fish and chips. They don't use beef fat so the batter is less tasty and more heavy. The chips were dry and some were hard and undercooked. Waited ages too while 5 staff just stood there getting annoyed. I had a few bites and went to another fish and chip shop.Only good thing i can say is they have a good value combo. Good for vegetarians/pescaterians too since they use vegetable oil.

Great food and friendly staff. Just had chips from here so that's all I can comment on but they were nice, not greasy or oily and hit the spot at the time. Decided to sit on the wall where the beach was and very nearly got attacked by the savage sea gulls so beware of the birds! But that's the seaside for you.Would happily eat from here again.

Chips was great, but the experience was bad.I don't understand why the young lady cashier so slowly!!? I am the first one of the queue and I only order chips, she wants me to wait until she done services the long queue then give me the chips.

Went here today, the pricing was really good but unfortunately the standard of the fish and chips was not up to much the fish tasted of nothing. Unfortunately due to this probably won't return again when we visit Scarborough again. Staff where very friendly and food was served promptly, just a shame the food wasn't up to standard. Food however was served piping hot which is a plus

Delicious fish and chips on the sea front. Generous sized portions, excellent value for money. Perfect if you are coeliac as they have separate fryer and gluten free batter. Very good service.

Fantastic fish n chips, all cooked fresh, the portion size is massive. Sue, who served us, was very friendly, the fish is bought fresh every day directly from the harbour. Definitely worth a visit.The large portion was so big even my fat mate couldn't finish it.. 🤣

I honestly think Papas is the best fish and chips ive eaten in the uk . Tastes lovely and the portions are huge while its not expensive at all . Well worth it if you ask me and whenever i do visit Scarborough i always make sure to get some . Brilliant. Thanks 🙏🏼

Look no further. Excellent fish and chip. The regular haddock and chips (see photo) is under a fiver and more than enough for the standard appetite. The mushy peas are a bit too green but ok. Expect a bit of a queue but it’s worth it.
