Perry's Plants River Gardens Cafe in Scarborough

Nice garden centre in very pleasant position by the river, coffee ok and reasonably priced however avoid scone and cream, small teaspoon of jam smothered in cream from areasol. At least in Morrisons you get a small pot of jam , clotted cream and a bigger scone for similar price.

A very good garden centre in a very pleasant setting next to the River Esk. It also has an excellent cafe. Well worth a visit.

Can I just start with the lady in the cafe that takes your order ... What a superstar!!! Such a lovely person and loads of patience.Food was lovely and in possibly the best gardens I've eaten in in some time. Great place to totally unwind.It's recommend an ice cream as a great at the end as they are just delicious!!Definitely added to list of cafes to return to.

Absolutely gorgeous place. 1st time as was visiting my Aunt in Whitby. Plenty of ta les outside near the river or you can eat inside. Great variety and delicious food. Garden Centre in gardens lovely stuff and great variety of ornaments plants cards etc. Definitely worth a visit 😀

Always enjoyed our visits to this place but won’t be returning. There was a time when the food was served on proper plates with a proper cups and a teapot, but now all you get is cheap takeaway cartons along with Costa style coffee/tea cups, and the food wasn’t cheap either. Very disappointed, and feel this has made the place feel cheap, apart from the food.

Lovely garden centre. Small but an excellent array of pond plants. Great cafe alongside the river. Well worth a trip out on a sunny day.

We have been coming here for many years as we had a holiday home in whitby. Always loved it for many reasons. The garden is beautiful during the summer, it has a cafe serving food and drinks, wonderful to sit beside the river or under the pergola nearby, plus it sells plants too, at very reasonable cost. Since lockdown, they have updated the toilets on site, and put more tables outside. The only thing we didn't like is that your drinks and food are now served in cardboard cups/plates, which isn't a good improvement in my opinion. Saying that, it wouldn't put us off coming here, its just a shame, as tea rooms normally serve from proper crockery.

Always a good place to visit. Excellent plants and shop. Also a great place to have cake and coffee. Go see for yourself

What a great place right by the river. Very reasonable prices, with a lovely established garden. And there's a little cafe. You can eat by the river or gardens, we sat watching a kingfisher. Will definitely be returning very soon.
