Pier Inn Restaurant in Scarborough

What a dump don't be put off by the entrance it only gets worse ,oh where do I begin, on entering the bar there is no warm welcome just a bar man who doesn't know his a...e from his elbow we decided to have a drink and ask about parking etc we were given a voucher and informed that the parking was a way up the street look for a W and park there we had our drinks 1 pint and a gnt £11.40 , my pint was disappointing to say the least and had to leave it . We then tried the toilets oh my dear the door handle should have warned me off but I continued wish I hadn't absolutely disgraceful I washed my hands then had to apply sanitiser after touching the door handle. As we sat there contemplating our next move we noticed that the tables had been cleared but not wiped down . We decided to check-in and the same guy from the bar still had no clue he informed us that he didn't know if we had paid or not ? And he wouldn't charge us for breakfast until he could find out... we went up to our bedroom up the dirtiest grey carpet and couldn't touch the sticky banisters of fear of catching something, when then went past the kitchen yes the kitchen!! Up some more filthy carpets and manky banisters to our bedroom to which we walked in put the key on the bed turned around walked out and kept on going without saying a word ,please be aware when booking as it seems to have good reviews but rest assured if COVID-19 if it didn't start in China it started there , nobody seems to care staff just seem to wander around with blinkers on the whole place needs a dam good clean , this was supposed to be for my 60th birthday but we ended up just driving home BE AWARE!!!

Beautiful food great choice can recommend the fish goujon sandwich it's amazing. Staff were excellent friendly and nothing was too much trouble even though the pub was really busy

Save your money and go to one of the many other bars and restaurants on the front. Over priced, small portions and staffing issues. Staff were arguing at the bar before one stormed out!

Very chilled atmosphere, they had a live band In last weekend that were great. Can be quiet in the day but usually packed at night. The toilets could do with some tlc but other than that it's a good place to go for a pint.

Very poor experience. Tried to call the place, always engaged after 25 min of trying with over 50 attempts. Even resorted to Facebook messenger to make contact with no reply even to today. Arrived at the place. Tables showing reserved and Tablets with seats missing. When asked to dine, was told they wasn't serving food. When I quizzed it was till 8pm as it was only 7pm, they told me some story that they can't cook now for some reason. Poor experience and not what I expected. Seem disinterested and didn't show any emphaty towards us, ruin the night for food since we planned to spend it at your place. Hence the 1 star rating.

Lovely pub situated in the heart of Whitby. Four of us called today for drinks. Prices are steep just over £17 for two beers, a glass of wine and a coke. Pleasant atmosphere and not too busy. I noticed they had a good menu choice and a special of the day (We didn't eat there so can't comment on the food). I also note they allow dogs in the pub too 😉🐕

Ended up here today cause it was the only place after trying several that allowed dogs in!! In all honesty I wouldn’t let the dog eat off the wooden sticky floor or the dirty disgusting carpet!! Food fish and chips, well I don’t know the last time they cleaned the fryer out but it was horrid! Toilets were not good and on looking at the steps up to the kitchen and that area. Really avoid at all costs! The place needs a DEEP CLEAN!! just avoid!!

Food was loads better than when we were there in November. Always a busy popular place. Bar staff very friendly

If you like your drink sniffed by the bar staff before you get handed it, this is the place for you. Apart from that and the suspect smears in the toilet cubicle ut okay. The staff did clean up as soon as anyone left which was good to see.

Nice pub. Had a beautiful gammon and egg meal. Good portions. Drinks a little pricey though, but to be expected in a tourist resort.
