Lovely weekend. Very warm welcome from Simon, nothing was too much trouble.Spa treatments were beautiful, again the staff were warm and welcoming. The room was nice although the turret wall was a little off putting. The bed was extremely comfortable.Breakfast was delicious with a lot of options and endless pots of tea. Will visit again

PERFECT. I cannot complain about a single thing. Our room was spotless, spacious, quiet. A very comfortable bed, that if I thought I would get away with it, would have come home with me. The staff were some of the friendliest people I could wish to meet. Very attentive and professional. The breakfast has a large selection and all very fresh. Cooked breakfast is lovely. Genuinely cannot recommend highly enough and that's without using any of the spa facilities. Certain that I've missed out on so much here but be sure I will be returning here for a longer stay!

Beautiful hotel with a fantastic spa. Rooms were large and spacious, beds very comfy. Spa facilities excellent and clean. Had the hotel breakfast which had a fantastic selections and was well worth it. Fantastic location for a little luxury break on the Yorkshire Coast

Very nice hotel. Food fab. Spa / pool fab. Beautiful location. Next time we book we might book to stay in the main hotel as we stayed at the Keep which is located about 200 yards away and slightly downhill, that said the weather was nice so it wasn’t really an issue as the trees are so lovely - it is a nice walk. The breakfast was particularly nice. Dinner was nice too. All staff are super friendly. Highly recommended.

Superb 2 night stay. 2 fantastic breakfasts and evening meals, good choice of food all presented well by excellent, friendly waiting on staff. Swimming pool, sauna and steam room all well presented, clean and not too busy. Hotel is ideally placed for walking to Whitby either by road or part of the Cleveland way. All in all a wonderful, warm welcoming place. The staff are all a credit to the hotel

As a regular visitor to hotels, I was disappointed with this as 'high end' . It just isn't. Staff are friendly and cheerful but not service trained. They serve you when asked, but do not anticipate you needs. Hence you spend a lot of time attracting their attention. Room TV has a very limited selection of free view channels. The film selection costs you extra. Spa changing rooms need maintenance. Advertised Jacuzzi is missing. Spa treatments are fully booked days, if not weeks ahead. There is no information in the room about the hotel layout, about the grounds, or about local attractions.Worst of all is the kipper breakfast. You get just one half of a kipper! This sums up my hotel experience here

We had a fantastic stay, a nice walk to Sandsend where we were able to walk on the beach, have a nice meal and several drinks before walking back to the hotel. Then having a dip in the pool and using the sauna and steam room. We then had an impromptu nap on the bed, which was very comfortable. Waking up 5 minutes before our reservation in the hotel restaurant, the food in the hotel was lovely as was breakfast. Whilst we don't have a dog, its worth knowing they are welcome for those who do and would want to bring them.

An oasis of luxury and charm after we had to bail on an awful Guest House stay in Whitby. A first rate experience from start to finish. Gorgeous 'fancy' room with balcony, bath and shower. Fantastic linens and furnishings. Everything was wonderful. Our Vegan dinner was out of this world - way, way better than what we have experienced elsewhere. All staff professional and brilliant. Grounds are beautiful. Can't wait to return. Thank you ever so much!

Very nice hotel with very bubbly, friendly and helpful staff. Stayed in a 'Fancy Room' which was clean and spacious. Used the swimming pool, sauna and steam room - all very good. Evening meals were excellent. Only one weak area was the full Yorkshire Breakfast where many items seem to be cooked in advance and kept warm in the kitchen until orders come in. This meant very hard tough bacon and black pudding and many items just warm not hot. Apart from this our stay was excellent and hotel is a great location for coastal walks around Whitby.

Gorgeous surroundings and location Rooms large and comfy with great room service menu tea coffee etc. and terrace. The spa was lovely- pool not huge but warm. Massage excellent but the star was dinner. Delicious food, imaginative and presented with flair.
