Restaurant at Dunsley Hall in Scarborough

Booked this hotel as we did not want to be in the centre of Whitby . Absolutely perfect from start to finish . Room large clean , bathroom spotless . We will definitely stop here again when in the area. The restaurant staff were very attentive. Food exceptional , overall excellent stay would highly recommend Dunsley Hall

Wonderful stay in a stunning, quiet location. Can't fault the room, food or staff. Room was clean and comfortable, staff were wonderful, the food was tasty and plenty of choices were available. Fabulous value for money and plenty to see and do in the area. Thoroughly enjoyed our short break. Will be returning without a doubt.

Fantastic hotel, we loved everything about it, a real gem hidden away just outside of Whitby.We were given a room upgrade as it was my birthday treat which was much appreciated.The evening meal was very good as was the breakfast plenty of choice on both menus and very nice table service.Hotel is nicely secluded well off main roads in beautiful grounds overlooking the North Coast

Stayed here at the weekend , lovely old building, excellent friendly staff, rooms large and clean with extra large bathroom. the grounds and the area were beautiful. Priced much lower than similar properties in Whitby and were by far better value for money, plus on site parking.

One of the rooms we got was £99 a night . But I would recommend it to anyone what a fabulous place very friendly staff very clean just awesome location will be going back time and time again . The breakfast was just fabulous . If you don't go there, you have to be nuts. Just 5 minutes drive from the city centre of Whitby. Just a phenomenal place

Booked the special offer for a short break for me and my husband. The hotel itself is very olde world, had good points and also some not so good, but I like to give a fair review. The photo on the Web site showed 4 poster beds in the room, but this wasn't what we got, so assume the special offer rooms exclude these. The room itself was situated on the top floor in the eaves, it was spacious but very tired looking with furniture that harks from the 60's. The bedside light at one side was broken, and very wonky. The worst thing was that the room was too warm (probably not a problem in winter) even with the window fully open. There was no way to turn it down either. The bathroom was like a sauna with a towel heater fully on all time, again, no switch anywhere to turn it off. The toilet was a saniflow type and was extremely noisy. However, the shower was extremely good, powerful with plenty of hot water, and there was a good sized bath for those who prefer it. The bed was squeaky and uncomfortable, so together with the heat, did not make for a good night's sleep unfortunately. The best thing about the hotel was its friendly staff and the excellent food. Could not be faulted for its quality, choice and freshness.Think they struggled for staff at times, had to wait a bit for bar service, plus they had the doors to the outside open constantly so it could be draughty sitting in the bar. No one stayed in there for long. Overall, we would return for a better room, but I guess it was good value for money on the offer. Would expect better if we had paid more.

Great value, a lovely setting, an old beautiful Manor House with lovely staff (Molly especially) and always ready to help. A great choice at breakfast and the evening meals were fab, and again a good choice. There’s a quaint bar with leather chairs and a large relaxing lounge. We had a double aspect room with a fourposter bed and seating area. The only downside, was the shower!This was our 4th stay, and YES, we will be back.

Great place to stay. Not to far in the whitby. The hotel is a beautiful building, the young lady on reception is a pleasure and goes out her way to help. The food is good quality and well presented. I think some back ground music is needed, they do play music at one side of the dining room. So you tend to find yourself whispering, as other tables where sat in silence for some reason.The only three downsides are the bed are uncomfortable and the pillows are very thin.We were unable to use the hot water, due to a new boiler being fitted and the water was brown. I understand this is out of the staff hands.

What a hidden gem of a place. Tucked away down a narrow country lane about 1 mile outside Whitby. Look out for their regular £99 special deal which is Dinner, Bed n Breakfast for 2 people. The food, staff and ambience is superb and the building steeped in history. Highly recommend 👌

A beautiful building in a beautiful setting. Had a large room that was very clean and well presented. Had excellent service from every member of staff who were all very friendly. The meal we had at night was one of the best and my compliments to the chef it was delicious from start to finish. The service in the restaurant was very good. Would definitely recommend and look forward to visiting again. Thank you for an enjoyable stay.
