Royal Parade Cafe in Scarborough

Tasty fish and chips. Few bigger tables outside and more inside if you need a little bit of shadow. Cafe located next to the public toilets.

Fish and chips were five star.However the girl on the till could not have been less welcoming if she tried. Service with a smile did not come into it. If she likes her job she should tell her face. If she hates her job, she should maybe leave.

Called in on Sunday 17 July after walking on the beach from The Bay. We usually pass by and head to Inghams or CJs in the town centre but small child was hungry so in we went. It was quite busy and the girl taking the orders was unwelcoming to say the least. Perhaps she was fed up of having to constantly inform people that there was no gravy or curry sauce although to be fair to her, I'm no ray of sunshine when at work either. Order was placed and have to say that the system they have there seems to work very well and food was served very quickly. The fish and chips were very good and much nicer/better value than the previously mentioned places. Fish was lightly battered which we like and chips were just right. On top of this you can sit outside and enjoy the excellent view from probably the best located takeaway in Filey.Considering the price, quality of food and nice seating and view outside I would say it was good and we'll certainly visit again.

I stopped here for a quick bite to eat after walking along the beach at Filey. The scampi was very nice and cooked to order. Staff were friendly and kept me up to date on how long the food would be. Cannot really ask for more. The indoor seating is nice as front doors open out and allow fresh air in whilst keeping you out of the sun for a bit

Never have i felt so ripped off!!!!!!!! £5 for a chip buttie. Avoid, avoid, avoid. Filey beach was lovely, take a picnic.. 👍

Lovely chips, nice and well done, not anaemic like some places. Curry sauce was particularly good. Prices are as you'd expect for on the seafront, about £6 for chips with a sauce. Only downside was the person serving, who was quite rude about us queuing from the wrong side, despite having no signs up and no one else actually waiting to be served! Would go back for the food, service left a bit to be desired

Decent fish & chips, can't fault it, price wise about right if anything slightly cheaper than your usual seaside price, about £10 for fish & chips, was a large haddock in nice thin crispy batter with decent chips, not greasy, would come again, polite staff & overlooks the sea. Have read a few negative reviews about this place but having tried it I'm somewhat surprised as our experience was good.

Not really a cafe, take away with seats. I'm afraid it wasn't a great experience. Pricey (£10.75 Fish and chips, £2.40 for a cup of tea, with no service). Batter was terrible on the fish, undercooked, where as the chips had been cooked twice, in my opinion. Staff were uninterested, unless telling you how to queue. I am afraid we wouldn't visit again.

Right on the front overlooking the water, it's in a great spot. Food, as is usual when on the seafront is pretty pricey: £10.25 for fish and chips, £3.50 for a cappuccino and £5 for a chip barm. So yeah it costs a bit. The fish was huge though! Freshly caught and freshly fried and it was really good. Very tasty. We enjoyed our lunch here and it's in a nice location.

Went to the takeaway side....very glad I decided to call in. Forget the Magpie in Whitby, this is the best chippy in the country! Lovely staff, very helpful and friendly. The curry sauce is spot on too! Highly recommend this place 😎👍
