Royal Tandoori in Scarborough

Had a meal here while staying in Scarborough .went on a Wednesday night all meals half price had poppadoms very nice then starters garlic mushrooms and onion bargis both excellent. Main meals garlic chilli chicken and a chicken jalfrezi which was good but a tad to spicy overall deffo recommend this place

Good quality food at a very reasonable price. All the staff were helpful and attentive at all times during our meal. All food on the menu is half price Sunday and Wednesday evenings.

We have just had our fourth meal at the Royal Tandoori Scarborough, and there is no criticism I can give, the food has been faultless and so tasty. The customer service couldn’t be better. Well done Royal Tandoori

Absolutely lovely. Friendly welcoming staff, quick to seat us and serve us. The food was tasty and perfect temperature, hot but ready to eat. Definitely going back and would recommend to anyone.

Ordered a takeaway the dip was off, it smelt really bad, service was rude, he actually implied I didn't know how the sauce should taste , prices aren't cheap so I'd strongly recommend going elsewhere! Customer service was a joke ! I would never recommend this place !!!!!! All I can say from Other reviews is maybe you get a different service if you eat in. 🤔

Came on behalf of a recommendation from someone we asked working at the harbour bar, we weren't disappointed. Staff were lovely and friendly, food was amazing! Vegetarians well catered for!

Had a meal delivered last night which came in good time and was absolutely delicious. Every dish was well cooked and the flavours superb! If you don't like the Indian food from here ... try Chinese

Really good Indian restaurant in Scarborough. Have a great range of dishes and reasonable prices too. Helpful staff. Tasted great too. On a Sunday they do half price night and on a Wednesday night they do a buffet night. Would recommend.

Visited The Royal Tandoori in Scarborough tonight. It is quite a nice place. Well decorated and very clean.We ordered pappadom's a starter, and main course with a selection of breads.The pappadom's came with the usual run of the mill pickle platter. Mint sauce, mango chutney and Pataks Lime pickle.We then had a Sheek Kebab, and Chicken Tikka starter.Both were actually quite tasteless, with not a great deal of flavour.We then had Chicken Vindaloo with Pilau rice and a Haandi Chicken Bhuna with Mushroom Pilau.The Chicken Vindaloo was not bad, but very acidic and bitter tasting. Something wrong with the balance there. This is normally my favourite dish, but in this case it was quite disappointing.The Haandi Chicken Bhuna had to be returned on arrival as it was swimming in grease, to the point that it was quite inedible.The waiter, was quite apologetic and duly took it away to be recooked.The second attempt was much better and my partner quite enjoyed it.We also had a Keema nan, Chapatti, a plain Paratha, which were all good.The food overall was average at best.The atmosphere in the restaurant descended into quite an ugly environment on the arrival of two exceptionally intoxicated couples who were very loud and continuously used profanity throughout the conversation /argument they were having with each other.It did not help that the staff continued to serve them alcohol throughout the duration of their stay.We were actually quite happy when the manager informed us that they were closing at 10pm, and we paid our bill for £63.00 and left without finishing our meals.Not a pleasant experience and we will not be returning any time soon.
