We had a coffee here earlier in the day when we arrived at The Shepherd's Purse for our 2 night stay. We decided to book the Greek Night for the evening. The home cooked food was delicious! Meze to share for our starter followed by Moussaka & Salmon on bed of avocado salsa. The staff were lovely, would highly recommend this hidden gem.

We called after looking at the reviews and weren't disappointed. We had the Yorkshire Share platter. Wow. What fantastic food. All good quality food and nicely presented. We also had Hot smoked salmon on salad and Home made Crab cakes. Both of which were very good.It is definitely worth a call if you can get in if visiting Whitby.

If Whitby's fish and chip shops aren't what you fancy for lunch then Sander's Yard provides real, tasty food cooked on the premises. It is also good for tea and cakes with a sit down and a natter.I had a chicken and thyme sandwich from the specials board, my wife asked for salad featuring black pudding with salmon replacing the black pudding. They couldn't be more accommodating, the service is friendly and efficient. We had a great time. I will definitely be coming again. Thanks to all the staff who made the experience so welcoming.

Lovely place to eat. Very friendly staff and nice to see young people being trained up and enjoying their job. Very good location. Decor standard and food good but not spectacular. Overall a 4 star experience, but 3 star for food alone.

Mum and I had decided to spend the day in Whitby some weeks back, as it's one of our favourite places to go for the day. We'd parked up for the day and had a look around a few of the shops and as a few hours passed and it was approaching 12 o'clock, we decided to look for somewhere to have a bit of lunch. Due to my mum having a wheat and gluten intolerance, it can be difficult at times to find places that cater to such dietary requirements. A place we had tried some months back was alright, but wasn't the greatest. We'd happened to stumble upon Sander's Yard Bistro merely by chance, as it was tucked away from the bustling cobbled street. After having a look at the menu by the gate, we thought we'd give it a try. Although it was busy, one of the staff members was more than happy to find us a table and it wasn't long before we'd got one. We were seated on a fab table by the main door, overlooking the wonderfully charming courtyard. A real bonus that the weather kept ever so nice for us too! We had a lovely lady who served us and nothing seemed too much trouble, not to mention there were some great gluten-free options available. So mum ended up ordering the mature cheddar, red onion and tomato on a toasted gluten-free bun and I got the Cumberland sausage sandwich in a warm ciabatta roll and we were really impressed. It was hot, well-presented and very enjoyable, not to mention the fab raspberry milkshake! We'd have liked to try the selection of cakes they had too, but we were full after our bit of lunch. However we shall certainly be back for more without a doubt. Really pleased with the great food, great location in a quiet space and the great staff also! Many thanks to Sander's Yard Bistro! :)

Visited here as a guest when the Bistro was closed for a wedding reception. The staff were great and very accommodating, and the wedding meal was excellent. A wild owl visits the adjacent open air yard which entertained us. As it was near Halloween and Whitby Goth weekend the bistro was fittingly decorated which added to the happy atmosphere.

Been twice in the week we have been here at Whitby! Lovely food and a good price for it! Best to book if you can as it’s quite a busy place! If you’re not a fan of hot drinks, the milkshakes are great and also the lemonade!

Great location and decor. I had the rarebit which was lovely, although you do get the same cheese topping on the Croc Monsieur so that's also worth considering.

What a lovely evening we had here! They were short staffed too but went out of their way to keep the orders coming. The food was delicious and beautifully presented
