Silks Fish and Chips at The Croft in Scarborough

Fish lovely, batter just right. Only disappointment was, the chips always seem to be just warm. This is probably because fish made to order whereas chips are kept in the warmer. Also would be good to open later Friday evening.

Our first meal after moving to Scarborough and we were not disappoint. Great fish and chips and really friendly staff.

Sadly Not very enjoyable. Certainly under new management as Matthew Silk would never serve the rubbish we got tonight. Gravy was like water . No bread buns. No shandy .

Fish, chips and mushy peas, not too greasy, plenty of fish. Friendly serviceShop has a change of owner. Still friendly staff but the fish and chips are nowhere near as nice! More crispy bits than actual chips, soggy batter and unappetizing mushy peas. The fish was very dry. Be looking for a new chippy I'm afraid! Such a shame

One star for the fact they were open. Size of fish gone down, no longer encased in batter but welded to it. Chips very poor quality.New owners need to look at what Mathew and time did right to keep hold of customers.Worst fish and chips we have had in a long time. Will not be returning any time soon.

Used Google to search for fish and chips as in the area on holiday. Silk’s was one of the highest rated so went there, we were not disappointed. Brilliant food, welcoming staff, easy to find with good parking. Perfect. Thanks.

Cannot praise this place enough. I went to get a big order as we were camping nearby . We got excellent service, gorgeous food and even some freebies! Best fish n chip place ever!

This is the only fish and chip shop we use when we holiday at Scarborough. Today we decided to eat in. The staff were very friendly, welcoming and very accommodating, top notch service, a lot of businesses could learn a lot from these guys, you don’t tend to get service like this these days, and it was lovely to see. The fish and chips reflect the standards of the owners owners. Great white fish, lovely and crispy batter. Thank you very much! Keep up the great work guys 👍

Everything was excellent enjoyed by my whole family. A holiday to Scarborough made a little bit brighter! Absolutely delicious meal, fantastic prices! Fresher than any other fish we've had down here. Enjoyed by all of us including the fussiest eater in the group!! This was by far our nicest meal!
