Silver Street Fisheries in Scarborough

Been today it was one of the best fish and chips I have had in Whitby, if not the best. Bit off the beaten track but we'll worth it once you find it. Yummy, will definitely go again

We’ve just spent 4 days in Whitby and following the reviews Silver Street Fisheries lived up to its reputation. Would recommend this business to everyone. The fish was tasty with a crunchy batter and the chips were well cooked.

It's always tricky to find a good chipy just based on reviews. However, this place won't let you down. For £6.50 you'll get a very good traditional cod & chips, the chips won't get stiff after 5 minutes and the fish is fresh. Much better than my last meal at Papa's, if you want some kind of comparison.

A visit to Whitby today and came across this little Gem. Food was fantastic and staff, two ladies (who's names I didnt get), were the most friendliest, especially the one taking orders. I was the lady who was fighting to pay over my other half trying to! 😅...best food and SERVICE by far.

Have to say that Silver Street Fisheries are definately the best fish and chips in Whitby. Peas and curry sauce are excellent. Leave the chippies on the front and go to Silver Street.

On our hols for a week,fab last tea before home.Tried other over priced places on previous visits but missed you,big mistake.Well done,well enjoyed and thanks.

Excellent chippy! My family have lived in Whitby since before I was born and this is by far the nicest chippy in the whole town! Everytime I come to visit from Scotland I always get a fish supper from Silver Street. Genuinely delicious flaky fish and crispy batter, amazing chips just don't forget to order scraps too, they're the best bit! 😍

Definitely the best fish and chips in Whitby! We grabbed haddock, chips, battered sausage and curry sauce for under £10!Haddock and batter were lovely and fresh, very taste. Battered sausage was fantastic and curry sauce was incredible. Sometimes a bit of a wait if you time it wrong but honestly worth it (so much better value than the fish shops on the front)Would recommend to anyone visiting Whitby to head to Silver Street Fisheries!

Really good fish and chips. A bit of a walk up the hill from the harbour but definitely worth it. Fish cooked fresh and much cheaper than the other chippies in and around the harbour. There are no tables outside now, I assume due to Covid so there is nowhere to sit but there is a bench down the hill and opposite the church.

Cod and chips with a side of curry sauce - absolutely divine! The batter was perfection and the fish was cooked beautifully. In fact the whole meal was delicious, I would recommend anyone to try here. You order at the hatch, are given a ticket and then wait for your number to be called. It was efficient and well organised. I didn't ask the lady for salt and vinegar though, I didn't think to. If I squeeze another visit in before I return home then I'll remember to!
