Subway in Scarborough

Me and a friend both ordered a chicken tikka footing sandwich. We both could taste a fishy taste in the sandwich. Also the Cherry Pepsi I had was flat and had a funny taste to it, like it'd been in the machine for a long time. A few hours later my stomach was really upset and I was violently sick. Avoid at all costs.

Smaller shop but staff very polite and helpful, minimum wait to order, very busy but was greeted by staff as walked thru door and informed small wait while other customers served. Fresh baked bread on order, plenty a choice of filling all looked fresh and inviting. Was kindly informed of best offers and options without feeling pressured

I can Airways rely on subway. It was near closing so there wasn't much left. There wasn't much vegetarian choice. The toilet needed bringing up to cleanliness. I would go again.

What a bad Subway store this is. In a vegetarian and I was waiting for my sandwich to be made and found steak in the salad, I walked out in discust...

Just popped in for a quick sub and was really unimpressed. Having seen the food hygiene in this place, I was really put off. All of the staff had long hair but no hair nets. The food preparation area could really have done with a wipe down. I understand that it was the lunchtime rush but I'm sure customers would be happy to wait half a minute for you to quickly wipe the sides down before serving them. The salad looked like it had been out for days. The lettuce was brown, the cucumber was drying out and the cross contamination between containers was almost passive aggressive. In addition, there were no cup's and the lids and straws for the cups were running out. A member of staff brought some cups down and I poured myself some 7up, took a sip and found that it was sparkling water. The staff didn't apologise when I told them, all they said was "oh yeah the 7up", that was it. That's some dazzling customer service. I'd be embarrassed to work there. And on top of it all, customers werw complaining because in the toilet, you could not reach the toilet paper while sat on the toilet as it was on the other side of the room! I'll never be going to this store again.

I visited this store today whilst in Scarborough, omg this must be the dirtiest, filthiest store I have ever been in, my family sat down and had to start cleaning the table, I went to the counter and a member of staff before going to serve me started repeatedly sneezing into her disposable gloves which she then never changed and went on to serve me, she then told me that they only had Italian bread, so I asked for a turkey and ham footlong which I was then informed it had to be toasted as the ham was still really cold and hadn’t defrosted properly yet, obviously not wanting to spend the day in the bathroom I left the store. The place just felt like there was no leadership the staff where doing what they wanted to do, no one was cleaning up or cleaning tables, bread not prepared and meats still frozen and then being served to customers! and to top it of staff having no basic awareness of food handling procedures, avoid if you don’t want to get ill

Only 2 staff on site and not able to manage the lunchtime rush. The upstairs eating area was closed off. No meatballs to go in the Sub of the day. My wife ordered a salad bowl but then they had no cutlery for her to eat it with. Not up to the standards of other Subway branches we go in.

Awful customer service and very rude staff.Very unpleasant and bad attitude towards customers.Rather discuss nights out and holidays then pay attention to the customers.A lady had cucumber put on her meatballs only for her to change her mind with the staff member putting the cucumbers back in the tray with sauce all on the inside and not in the wastebin. Feel sorry for any vegetarians who order.Had to reach around to grab my sub sandwich from behind the till as staff member just walked off in the back when I paid.Only small cups available for drinks and when asked for a bigger one got ignored until I asked again with the reply "im not the boss I dont do the orders for cups".Will never visit again. Called head office to complain.Subway and the franchisee should be embarrassed by who represents them in Scarborough. I look forward to taking it further with what I witnessed.

After waiting 10 minutes for my food I didn't know what had even happened to it it was a mess and wasn't even cut right the female staff was very rude and only cared what time it was and stood chewing gum and acting very unprofessional won't eat here again.

In short, this Subway is a very good place for a quick bite to eat. The decoration is rather minimal. However, the photos of Scarborough are rather attractive. Compared to other fast food restaurants in the area, this is quite large. Like all Subways, the food is of a superb quality. However, the staff could be a little more welcoming. There is also a noticeable amount of litter. Despite its flaws, as a whole, the Subway on Newborough, Scarborough is a great restaurant for lunch.
