On Thursday evening, my partner and I were looking for a place to eat with vegan alternatives when we came upon The Edge restaurant. We were instantly seated at a table without booking one prior and received beverages within 15 minutes of sitting down. The cuisine was fantastic, and I especially appreciated the vegan ragu!We will definitely return because the price was very reasonable and the environment was pleasant.

Been there 2 consecutive nights. They do have a vegan menu which is good. 3 starters, 3 mains and 3 desserts. Me and my partner in these 2 nights tried almost everything on the menu. The blond waitress was nice but on the first night the other waitress was in a state as if she was angry with something. She was not rude towards us, but just the body language was not the best.Interesting seeing spaghetti and risotto as a started but overall the dishes were OK. I must say a bit disappointed that all vegan foods we tried were based on tomatoe sauce so all have very similar flavours and looks. I must say the curry did not taste like curry, but more like a chickpea tomato sauce based, so something was missing there. I would do a risotto without tomato sauce also and more creamy. So I would suggest more variety on the vegan menu would be great.Desserts were too good, best part of the dinner, no doubt!

Disappointed to say the least, average meal price around £20 for a main for small portion, which l have been to many restaurants where they serve small portions, but with exceptional taste. This did not deliver taste for portion size. The starter meal was describe has Whitby king size scallops with crab, there were two of smallest scallops I have ever seen. The main course was a lamb combo, hot pot, we had to ask for a sharp knife to cut through the lamb. The service was at best slow. A disappointing meal experience.

Went on Saturday for a meal. The mains were really nice and very enjoyable. I had steak and my partner had venison. Both cooked perfectly. Presented beautifully. However the starters just felt like they were thrown together.

Great staff here. Food was great. Bit pricey but fair.. will be calling again.

Called in here two nights on the run, lovely food, very welcoming, even though we hadn't booked a table they made room for us. Definitely worth a visit. Ribeye steak was very good, fish and chips portions were enormous.

Absolutely fantastic, called in yesterday Saturday, on the chance of a table, not a problem. Steak was fantastic, prawn cocktail lovely ( for the wife ) dessert lovely ( for the wife) called again tonight, I ordered cod and chips, wow what a portion of fish, would highly recommend, staff were brilliant, if we come to whitby again will definitely go here again.

My partner is coeliac and needs gluten free and I prefer vegetarian. The food was delicious suited both of us and nothing was too much trouble. Service was spot on and we really enjoyed ourselves. Would definitely recommend.

I had the seafood spaghetti, which was fantastic. The vanilla creme brûlée for dessert was also superb. A very nice meal. Unfortunately, the waitress was abrupt and curt and we felt rushed. It was a real shame as it took the edge off what was otherwise a really good meal out. 4/5.

We popped into the edge on a Tuesday evening around 7pm (we hadn't booked and it seemed the only place without a queue). Large seating area upstairs meant there were spaces for walk ins.Food was ok, burger was burnt on the bottom but the chips were good. The fish pie was easily the best dish, good portion size and enjoyable.Bill was very reasonable for a sit down meal for two with a couple of drinks.
