The Ellerby Country Inn Restaurant in Scarborough

Pleasant pub, great location, staff friendly. Booked overnight stay having read great reviews. There is absolutely nothing wrong with this place however as soon as we walked inside we realised it just wasn’t for us! The pub simply looks and feels as though it caters for the older generation. We still stayed over and had breakfast which was lovely and the age of the other guests during the evening and following morning confirmed our initial view. There is also very little soundproofing between the adjoining bedroom walls.Sorry to be negative but this is just our thoughts.

Lovely comfortable atmosphere and the staff are absolutely wonderful. Amber (our hostess) was wonderful and attentive especially with our 3 year old daughter.Has for the food well I can't praise it enough well cooked and absolutely delicious.Would definitely recommend their award winning steak pie and home made Bakewell tart.

Best steak pie I think I've ever had, never seen a pie with so much tender brisket packed in. And a delicious gravy on the side with lovely chips. Gorgeous location and great building with great service to boot. Highly recommend.

Beautiful location, friendly staff and excellent food. Can't rate the rooms as we only stopped for something to eat but due to the cleanliness and homely feel. We may have just found one of those hidden gems!!

Me and my wife went for lunch there. And it was worth every penny. The welcome was nice, the table and condiments were first class, the service was first class, and the food was absolutely wonderful. 💯. We have both been away from the North East for 35.years, and only recently come back to the area. My wife said shall we try that lovely looking pub/Hotel. And l must say we will be going again. 10 out of 10 👍👏👏👏👏. Mr and Mrs Lincoln-Price.

Thursday steak night! Steak, fries, peas, onion rings and tomatoes plus a bottle of wine for 2 people £38.00 Great quality food at a very reasonable price. Staff are lovely too. We will be back.

Lovely meal with a group of friends. Very comfortable chairs and lovely food. Menu well present and lots of choice. Very good choice of drinks, bottles and on tap. Staff very friendly and attentive. Not too busy. Lots of parking

Fabulous guest house with superb food. Friendly helpful staff. Rooms are amazing. Perfect location for exploring the moors or nipping down to Whitby for a bit of retail therapy.

A really great experience! Rooms are lovely, spotlessly clean ,staff are all great and the food is excellent! This was our second visit and it certainly won't be our last! A big thank you for making our stay so enjoyable!!

Excellent meal and friendly staff.Had the Steak pie which was excellent. Very meaty with very good quality meat.Desert was excellent too. Had Sticky Toffee first time and Bread and Butter pudding the second.Highly recommend. Definitely will return.Suggestion would be cheese and biscuits as an option to a sweet pudding.
