The Famous Fishpan in Scarborough

We have our chips here every time we visit Scarborough and we never regret it. Very polite and friendly staff here too.

The haddock was cold and the batter chewy. It had obviously been sat in the warmer and not cooked to order like it says. Would not recommend or go again. Very disappointed.

Simply the best fish and chip shop in all of Scarborough, really can't be beaten.The fish is perfectly cooked and flavourful, the batter is the perfect thickness and has the best crunch and the curry sauce is delicious and slightly sweet.It's all perfection.

Cod and chips, sit in, on Scarborough seafront for only £7:95!! Portion was huge. Cooked perfectly and served by friendly helpful staff. What more can you ask for… Takeaway availability downstairs too. Definitely our favourite chip shop (restaurant).

We went here after seeing it as highly rated for fish and chips. Separated queues , COVID safety precautions in place. One of the finest and Tasty fish and chips we had In Scarborough. Worth every penny. We all liked it. Must if you are in South Bay .

There was a bit of a wait as we'd arrived at a busy time but it was definitely worth the wait! Hubby had cleaned his plate, kids loved their food(quite picky eaters) and my pie was delicious! Would definitely go again!

After seeing the reviews this place had we had to give it a go. They are positioned opposite the main beach.I ordered the big boy special which was £9 and the fish (haddock) was absolutely massive.Everything here is cooked to order so it’s all fresh. All our food was cooked perfectly I honesty can say this is best fish and chips I’ve ever had. Solid 10/10.

Lovely fish (size of a whale) and chip supper, mushy peas, bread butter and pot of Tea! Yummy.Smallish downstairs area upstairs is bigger and great views out to sea. Good service, friendly staff.Be aware stairs to first floor are steep. There is a toilet upstairs.Highly recommended!
