The Granby Hotel - Whitby in Scarborough

Nice bar. Quieter than when we have been before. Don't like that tables are booked in advance for food.

Booked in here for our evening meal after spending a social hour over a gin earlier in the afternoon. The food did not disappoint. I had the steak pie and it was sooooo good. Enjoyed every mouthful. Reasonable prices and really good value for money. Recommended.

I am not really a pub person but popped in for a quick drink and sit down for 10 minutes on way back from town. Ended up staying for 2 Hours. Drinks are reasonably priced, barman was really friendly. We ended up visiting every day of our holiday.

Nice, clean pub away from the front. Good pub food at reasonable price. We had chicken curry and giant yorkshire pudding with mince and onions - both good.

Great food . Proper beer . Dog friendly . Lovely helpful staff . Really cannot fault it . Try the homemade steak pie , brilliant . Came back twice in a four day stay .

Friendly knowledgeable staff, polite and quick to serve you. Food is served promptly and looks and tastes delicious. Heartily recommend the pub! See you again soon!

Ate and drank in here. Proper boozer great friendly staff. The gammon was incredible, good quality and HUGEEE. The husband was drinking the cask ale and it was bang on!Visited this establishment a few times but this is the first time we have eaten and it certainly didn't disappoint

We probably had the best meal here in the whole of our visit to Whitby. We booked not knowing the place previously, when we arrived we were shown to our table. It was a round table, cast iron, as found in most traditional pubs. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The pub had that traditional pub atmosphere. When the Sunday lunch meal came we were amazed at the quantity and quality. We learned never make a judgment on first impressions. I know this place will be top of the list next visit.

Really liked the Granby, great atmosphere and trimmed up for Christmas. Lovely filled Yorkshire pudding for Sunday lunch. Just think some of the staff shouldn't just concentrate on locals...maybe it was the time of year we visited?

Although reservations are ideal, we arrived to get out of the driving rain and the friendly staff gave us a warm welcome and had no problem on finding us a table. We both had the roast beef sandwich, which arrived quickly and came with a portion of tasty coleslaw and chips. Delicious and great quality beef, which came, we understand from a local buthcher. Very good value and can recommend.
