The Highlander Bar in Scarborough

Was staying at Carlton house the high lander was around corner a hotel with sea views .we sat in a public bar it also as .You can sit inside or out side .very nice polite bar tender .very helpful .worth a visit either to stay or if u are exploring the cliff tops near the spare then rest yr little legs by sitting in there beer garden front or back havinv well earned drink.

Spotted this gem when walking past, nice old school pub interior when you walk in, very friendly down to earth staff you can have a chat and bit of banter with, nice selection of drinks and the carvery is next level! Choice of 3 meats which you can have all 3 if wanted and the meat is cooked to perfection and top quality, the veg and yorkies are also very nice. For £8.95 it is a fantastic carvery which is easily worth more money. The Turkey, Beef and Gammon are exceptional quality..Strongly recommend stopping in this place.

It's still nice but not the same for us we use to meet friends there and as we are all getting older and not able to go for 2 years not many of us left

A nice bar with a good selection of beers, very quite as the Ramshill pub was reopened after a refurb. Got busier later as previous pub I mentioned was full so everyone came here.

Stayed here overnight 15th April. There is nothing bad I can say about this hotel, (maybe that there is no lift which isn't a downside for me but my in - law would love to stay here but couldn't manage the stairs) from the check in all went well. All staff were fantastic. Room was incredible huge had sea views. The breakfast was really lovely. Would highly recommend. Look forward to staying there again

Very friendly hosts. Nice warming comfy bar.Breakfast was delish.Superb. Sea view but pity about the fog. Comfy bed, good sleep.Only bad thing and this is. Not the hotels fault... Smell of cigarette smoke in the bathroom and that was checking in at 7pm. If that smell was not there 5 stars would have been given.

Great place very clean and staff will go out of there way to get everything you need. Our room was spacious and had sea views. Beds was very comfortable and clean the hotel had all facilities for everyone, well worth a visit.

It is in a great position, with no competition!, but it needs a complete refurbishment. The staff are efficient but are working with a rundown grubby product, come on the owners spend some cash and give the residents and visitors of South bay something and somewhere to be proud of, could be a goldmine being next to the the Crown Spa hotel
