I must agree with many of the other reviews on here over price. It's basically a Weatherspoon pub fayre charging All Bar One prices... As they know it's the only eatery on the entire site it does smack of profiteering I'm afraid. That said, the staff were friendly and helpful, but after our first meal safe to say we didn't rush back.A shame

Nice place and friendly staff. Limited menu and not the usual kind of fare you would expect in a pub. Have a massive pizza oven but do flatbreads (which are massively overpriced) and not pizzas. Bizarre. Apparently pizzas to return due to public demand. Food nice but expensive.

Had the misfortune of reading and believing the Reviews, certainly Dog friendly, At least 10 dogs in restaurant whilst food being served, waited over 40 minutes for overcooked burger for children, very minimal fish for child 6 inches long by 2 inches round. Adult burgers were Dry and overcooked only good things were the chips.. Not happy will Not be going back..

Popped in with a very tired puppy after a long walk and play on the beach, for a nice glass of white, a pint of lager after a brisk up hill spring time walk. Staff very pleasant, no complaints. Thank you 😊

As an owner at the bay Filey We decided to go for lunch at John Paul Jones pub .I understand it's a new menu but not a lot of choice and the food was of poor quality and extremely over priced .The fish and chips had to be sent back as it was not edible and it was £14.95 For that price ide want Gordon Ramsay to cook them not Gordon the Gofer 🙄Nearly £90.00 for 3 Adults and 2 children . Also several dogs in high spirits .If I was shouting as loud as they were barking no doubt I would have been asked to leave . Won't be returning any time soon .

We visited The John Paul Jones whilst staying at The Bay (on a very cold & foggy night). The food was standard pub grub (I had scampi whilst my wife had lasagne) but none the worse for that. Hot & filling topped off with a pint of doom bar (me) & a rhubarb gin (my wife). Service was good & the staff attentive. We left the pub feeling much fuller after an excellent meal 👍🙂

We come to filey often, The John Paul Jones pubs is a fabulous family friendly pub. Who give a warm Welcome to dogs. Reviews in the past have not been great but this last 6/7 months since Colin has taken the rains things have really picked back up. We’ve been back 4 times in the past 5 months and will be back! Great of food, drinks and craft beers Pub quiz is a bonus.

Some missing menu items (not really their fault). Music was too loud but they turned it down on request. Service was a little rushed e.g. we'd not even got coats off and sat down before they were asking for a drinks order. Food was good though and didn't take too long to prepare and bring out.

Fantastic meal. We always ensure that we have at least one meal whenever we stay at the bay. Friendly staff, food was hot and wasn't waiting long before it arrived.

Good, modern-style pub on The Bay holiday resort. Walking distance to the beach & next to a cafe & small supplies shop. Not a great selection of beer, the wine was decent. Food is typical pub-chain style although the sandwiches we had were freshly-made & tasty.
